Why is Arsedeep who was never a red ball bowler to begin with is playing these games?  What kinda vision is this?

 

They could have given Mayank a chance for an odd game easily.  There is Simarjeet as well who is probably most unluckiest pacer along with Kuldeep Sen perhaps.  Never in the radar

We had a 140+ fast bowler in Prasidh but the issue was that he is clueless and doesn’t even know what to bowl Gurnoor knows how to use his pace

BCCI is killing the trophies by playing all the matches in COE complex.

 

Duleep trophy was traditionally played with all superstars in front of crowds.Not only that these players are now playing in same conditions all the time.

Who is selecting these teams. How can this guy Kavuri Sai Teja get selected to Zonal team based on matches he has played, he has done nothing to get the selection.

Gopal was one of the highest wicket taker last sason. One reason i didn't like his bowling was lack of side spin. He has some batting talent left. Typically leggies don't bat that well except rare talent like @Chaos favorite Yuzi chahal, bishnoi.

SZ definitely has better bowlers than this. 35 year old Nideesh. not sure what he is doing here. Tanay Tyagarajan averages 25. But nothing flattering. Only Kaverappa and Shreyas are known names. May be Bengaluru pitch offers movement.

Seems like they went with top wicket takers in Ranji

 

Nidheesh 35 year old 28 wickets in 2026 Ranji season in 7 games 21.53 avge 

Shreyas GOpal  33 year old (almost) 48 wickets in 2026 Ranji season in 10 games 23.14 avge

Kaverappa  27 year old 21 wickets in 2026 Ranji season in 6 games 20.04 avge

Tanay Tyagarajan 30 year old 27 wickets 2026 Ranji season in 5 games 25.55 avge

 

Basically 4 top wicket takers in south zone are playing. May be they are in form.  Funnily from hyderabad SIraj 2 matches 6 wckets 37.33 avgerage. From Karnataka  Prasdham 4 matches 18 wickets 23.22 avge. 

 

Sai kishore took 20 wickets. Lean season. But he is out with injury anyway. Gurjapneet 10 wickets in 3 games 23.10 avge.

Tanay is himself 30 something, same with Gopal who is a has been.  Where are their next gen?  

 

Selectors should have discarded the Ranji Trophy stat padders and should have included at least Deepesh in there or Eden Apple Tom.

 

Seeing Nidheesh makes my blood boil like this dude has made career outta statpadding on trash Ranji surfaces.  WTF are we supposed to get with him in the side? 

 

Duleep Trophy should be used as a stepping stone for India A ideally.

 

Dravid had the right idea and made it into India A, B, C,D teams in his tenure..

They are back to default setting.

NZ coaches and selectors are already facing criticism for favoritism from media.  I am sure things are worse in SZ and WZ
