Austin 3:!6 Posted August 16 Posted August 16 According to reports, the BCCI is still awaiting government confirmation on whether India can travel to Bangladesh given the recent events. Politics aside, though, Bangladesh are playing some damn good cricket right now. They’ve just beaten a full-strength Australia in a Test in Australia, and before that whitewashed Pakistan both home and away. I’m genuinely itching to see a full Test series between India and Bangladesh. It could be a seriously close contest, and the timing feels absolutely right. Let’s just hope we get to see it.
Austin 3:!6 Posted August 16 Author Posted August 16 Bangladesh touring India will obviously be no contest and we will maul them. However, us going there could actually be competitive. We already don’t play bilateral series against Pakistan. I hope we don’t go down the same boycott route with Bangladesh. Unlike Pakistan, Bangladesh has never harmed Indian citizens. What is happening with Hindus there is bad, but they are Bangladeshi citizens, and the situation is ultimately an internal matter for Bangladesh. I just want to see the cricket happen. bsriharsha Posted August 16 Posted August 16 Need to fix the relations between the two countries after hasina gate.
Lone Wolf Posted August 16 Posted August 16 BD series has been shelved... Though India will tour BD next year for Asia Cup in June
vvvslaxman Posted August 16 Posted August 16 cricketing relations are good atleast players were eager to play the world cup. Government took a posture for optics.
Nikhil_cric Posted August 16 Posted August 16 ODI tour would be good. What is the point of playing Afghans in T20 cricket? Manucrick 1

Is it safe for our players to go to Bangladesh right now?
Vancouver Posted August 16 Posted August 16 I think they are best Asian team when it comes to spin department, both with bat and ball. India since retirement of Sehwag has been abysmal.

Three venues have been finalised, Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet to host these games. Not possible to host games in UAE in June. Edited August 16 by Lone Wolf

BCCISelector Posted August 17 Posted August 17 The T20 WC boycott drama needs to have consequences. The government will see that incident as a threat to India's Olympics hosting bid. Also, I don't think Indian broadcasters are too keen on engaging with Bangladesh after Bangladeshi broadcasters defaulted on their payments for IPL media rights. There's no legal recourse in that country due to all the anti-India sentiment, so they easily get away with cheating Indian businesses.
test fan Posted August 17 Posted August 17 This is what these MF jhaahil Abdul are doing with Hindu. No need to play cricket with Bangladesh
