Mishra has a great googly.. but his leg spinner is only slightly better than Chawlas... They should take some training from Sairaj Bahutule who spins the ball long way.. poor guy never got enough chances because of Khumble..

I believe Mishra's already shown more than enough to be selected for the next match. But he won't, sadly :(. Kumble's seniority will win out. Even though he hasn't bowled half as well Mishra has in this innings for close to a year now.

in my opinion, amit mishra can wait till kumble retires.. i dont think kumble will hang around for long and will announce his retirement probably after the eng series or pak series. for all that he has done for indian cricket, i think he deserves to go out on a high and the selectors and common public like us should give him that chance... it will be wonderful to see his name at no. 2 in the all time test wickets list than dropping him now and force him to retire.. since he knows that there are youngsters knocking the doors, he will either pull himself up for the sprint in the last leg or announce his reteirement gracefully if he thinks he's not upto the task... wat amit mishra has done now with his performance is to put that thought in kumble's mind - to do it in the next couple of series or go away with respect...

I hope Mishra ends up being a good bowler. Chawla is not that bad either and will eventually catch up. Kumble I guess can start speculating retiring as long as Mishra or Chawla is going to be doing a good job consistently. It won't be nice if Anil retires hoping the youngsters will step but then they falter. Even if the youngsters do average people will crucify them if they cannot produce the results like Anil has done over the years. If Anil retires and these guys cannot step up, that will mean killing not just one player but two. Australia did that with Warne and now you know they have no spinner of international class. People expect the likes of White to bowl like Warne but that is not going to happen soon. By then the selctors may take the drastic step and drop him. Then it will end up picking one every series and not being able to replace the legends. You can afford to drop a batsmen as there will be other batsmen that can step up but bowlers are the ones to bore the blunt of the selectors if they don't do well in a series or two. Usually it's easy to find good batsmen compared to bowlers.

So, for the Finals - does MSD play Amit Mishra over Bhajji in the playing 11? I'd say - Yes. This is a useless masala final anyway, and I'd give a go for Mishra over Bhajji who can "rest" some more. Also, what abt Tyagi in the 11 - Ideally, I'd hope MSD lets ZK take more rest before the Tests, and play Tyagi and Mishra in the 11 for the Tri-series Final.

Very short boundaries at Kotla and with Smith and Pollard going hammer and tongs, its hard to stop sixes, but he kept throwing it up and getting some bite off the wicket. Good bowling.

I feel the problem with mishra is the same that we saw with bhaji , they are confidence bowlers and easy to rattle. Yesterday mishra had started darting but he got that fluke wicket and that changed it for him.
