Imran Khan criticises India for cancelling tour.

The guy speaks well but makes no sense. He urged Eng not to tour India and then criticises India for not following Eng's example. If he has an issue it should be taken up with the English.

RTRS-Cricket-Imran criticises India's decision to cancel tour KARACHI, Dec 18 (Reuters) - Former captain Imran Khan has criticised India's decision to cancel next month's tour to neighbouring Pakistan. "This will not help build up trust (between the two countries) and it is a wrong decision by the Indians," said the Pakistan great on a talk show on Geo News on Thursday. Imran, who now heads his own political party Tehreek-e-Insaaf (Movement for Justice), said India should have applied the same criteria as they did when they asked England to return to their country after last month's militant attacks in Mumbai. "When some English cricketers had security concerns going back to India they were told if they didn't return it would be a victory for the terrorists behind the Mumbai attacks," he said. "While deciding on the Pakistan tour they should have thought in similar fashion. The cancellation of the series is not good for cricket in the region." Imran added that all countries reluctant to send teams to Pakistan should remember no sportsmen had ever been targeted in his country. India cancelled next month's tour after the government refused permission following the attacks in Mumbai which killed at least 179 people. The Indians had been due to play three tests, five one-dayers and a Twenty20 game.

Thats just pure unadulterated BS. We've played Pakistan in in the 90s, Kargil happened. We hosted them in India in 1999, Parliment attack happened. We then played them regularly between 2004-2006, many terror attacks happened, culminating in the recent Mumbai attacks. The FACT is, there's absolutely NO correlation whatsover between the cricketing relations and status of the ties between the two countries. Certain elements of the Pakistani society will continue to hate us, irrespective of whether both the govts. are mutually warming to each other. So Mr.Khan, enough of this BS argument which you throw out every time.

Huh? Does Imran know of some formal 'Al-Qaeda terror handbook' of sorts, in which chapter 11, rule 1 is about how 'No visiting cricketers and sportsmen should be targeted? :haha: Or has Khan personally talked to all the terrorists who have individually assured him that they wont target the cricketers? :haha:. I find this absolutely hilarious. The cricketers have so far been unscathed not purely because the security given to them so far has been foolproof, not because the terrorist dont want to target them. But as we've seen recently, its getting close. In the very same Taj Hotel that was attacked by the terrorists, the whole english squad was staying less than 3 weeks ago. The Hilton attacks of Islamabad would have certainly killed/injured a few cricketers, had they been staying in them.

Since Pakistan won't clean up the terrorist infrastructure in its territory, and going to war and doing it ourself is not realistic, disincentives need to be created in other ways. Its time for anti-apartheid style sanctions - any multi-national that does business in Pakistan should have to pay a terrorism tax in order to operate in India - the revenue can be used to compensate victims of terror and fund security improvements. Any legal experts in the house, can such legislation be viable under WTO?

Shahid Afridi hahahahahahahahahahaha

Karachi: Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi has urged not to get disappointed as India is not only team in the world to play cricket as there are many other teams who are willing to tour Pakistan. “Pakistan or we could play in their place, so we need not to follow particular team with begging bowl,” Afridi said. He called India decision of not sending their cricket team to Pakistan for the scheduled next year tour, disastrous for cricket. “India verdict gave a negative impression to the world,” Afridi told reporters at National Stadium, Karachi. Afridi said Pakistan Cricket Board has toiled hard to assure the India series but the only disappointed came in our way. He further said, since we had played in India under much worst condition when we were threatened not to tour India but we always tried to give a “message of peace” through cricket. Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Sports Pir Aftab Hussain Shah Jilani while commenting on cancellation of Pak India Cricket Series, said India should have visited Pakistan, as there is conducive atmosphere for playing cricket. The Minister said sports should not be linked with politics, adding both the countries could ease tension through sports activities.

What a joker this man is! 1) Few weeks ago he said, England should not tour India, as terrorists targetted foreigners in Mumbai 2) Now he says, cricketers were never targetted by terrorists & therefore India must tour Pakistan If you go by this man's words, you'll end up making a fool of yourself.

This makes no sense. Pakistan is the home land of most terrorist organizations. One of the few decent hotels in Pakistan was just levelled to the ground. Every friggin day, DAWN reports suicide bombings, gun shots & other form of killings in every major locality in Pakistan. And arguments that India is no safer, does not strengthen Pakistan's argument either. Guess who is making India unsafe ? Thats right, the citizens of Terroristan. It would be suicidal to play in the homeland of the very people who commit terrorist activities elsewhere. Add to that, Pakistani cricket team is one of the worst in the world. There is no big monetary gain playing this Pakistani team. Given the circumstances, why would any foreign team take huge risks, stay in shyty hotels, fearing for their lives, to play a shyty team ? PCB cannot even threaten other countries that they will reverse boycott other countries. Guess what: (a) No one cares (b) That means zero cricket for Pakistan. At this point, Pakistan should consider itself fortunate to be recognized as a country and allowed a cricket team. Soon (a few more terrorist attacks later), those privileges could be stripped. So enjoy a cricket team while it lasts, dont complain about the status quo!

The point which seals the case against Pakistan is the fact that everytime some rogue elment of ISI is found to be involved.. How can one trust security cover provided in such a scenario..

Thats an excellent point actually. How can you trust the security these guys provide, when its people from the very same security organizations that have a hand in many of the terror attacks?

I don't think we are not touring because of security concerns. The reason we are not touring is because an attack on India was launched by citizens of Pakistan, from their country and with evidence strongly suggesting active planning and training of the terrorists by elements of the Pakistani state, rogue or otherwise. And they continue to harbour and aid some of our most wanted terrorists and criminals. 172 people died in the Mumbai attacks. To tour there to play cricket would be an insult to their memory...do we take the lives of our fellow countrymen and other fellow human beings from other parts of the world who died, so lightly and with such little respect that we tour the country that probably sponsored their killings? Shame on us if we did.
