Yeah.. He is insane.... these officials and visiting team are out of their minds complaining about it.... I mean they couldn;t even save their own people who were trained, had guns to defend. then how do these foreigners expect them to save them. haha... this is so absurd. Now paki police men got killed in their own country, killed by their own people. They expect us to have sympathy for them and just be thankfull to them that outsiders were not harmed much.. So as per Paki standards, these guys were expecting too much in terms of security. If they adjust their expectation of security according to Paki standards, it was definitely a precidential level security...

veer, your conspiracy theory that they jsut wanted to scare as a loophole. Samarweera got hit by bullet on thighs, it could very well have been life threatening. 4th umpire got hit in stomach,
they were firing randomly around the bus.. obviously some of those bullets would hit... look at that other video, you think if they wanted to ambush and kill people in white van.. they could have?? no one was even returning the fire..

Intriguing...but you are not factoring one point into the equation. Mumbai. The capture of Kasab has exposed deep connections between Pak state agencies and terrorists and their network and modus operandi. They probably did not want this to happen again, so the operational tactics may very well have changed to suit this...hit quick and hard and melt away avoiding direct confrontation and chances of injury or capture...phantomlike. Perhaps they did not expect the Paki police to be as inept as they were and assumed they did not have much "engagement" time before they had to vacate the scene? Or perhaps, if it was an inside job, they were told that you have only so much time to do your job and get out of there or else it would be difficult to justify a lack of response in the extended timeframe without seriously implicating the collaboration of the inside forces?

PCB to lodge protest over Broad:omg::omg::omg: March 05, 2009 19:36 IST The Pakistan Cricket Board is to lodge a protest with the International Cricket Council over remarks made by match referee Chris Broad criticising security following Tuesday's attack on the Sri Lanka team bus in Lahore "It is very unfortunate what he has said," Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ejaz Butt said on Thursday. "All he has said is totally untrue and fabricated." Former England [images] player Broad, travelling behind the team in a another bus whose driver was killed, told a news conference he and colleagues were left like "sitting ducks" due to the lack of security during the attack. Six Sri Lankan players and their assistant coach were injured in the incident and seven Pakistanis, including six police, were killed. "Broad has made some obnoxious comments," Butt said. "How can he say there was no security... policemen lost their lives and 10 were injured trying to protect the players and officials. "The team and officials got the same security which was given to them during the one-day series in January. Broad himself praised the security arrangements then." MATCH OFFICIALS Two investigations are being carried out to find out if there was a lapse in security arrangements for the Sri Lankan team and ICC match officials. "We would like to know what happened, whether there was a security lapse and deviation from the standard operating procedure. If we have faulted somewhere we will say it is our responsibility," Butt said. Former England bowler Dominic Cork was also caught up in the incident. "If Ejaz Butt believes that security was enough at an international sports event then he's wrong and he should live and die by the words he's come out with," Cork told Sky Sports News. "Ejaz Butt is completely and utterly out of order." Pakistan's status as a co-host of the 2011 World Cup is in doubt following the attack and the ICC will hold a teleconference on March 16 to discuss the matches, Butt said. "The situation is very grim for us. We shouldn't expect any teams to come for the next six months or one year."

I don't they care really. They have nothing left to lose. The PCB and Butt know that no cricket is going to be played in the forseeable future in Pak and even foreign tours are in jeopardy from host teams like Bangladesh so in effect the PCB is really a defunct organization when it comes to international cricket so yeah, they're happy to sling mud because they're in the gutter themselves. They could always fall back on a solid domestic circuit but it's pretty obvious that even Pak players would prefer to play in rebel leagues like the ICL and country cricket/IPL rather than play at home.

Fontaine, You invite foreigners to your country to play cricket, guarantee them super security...then when they get attacked and come to within an inch of losing their lives due to your total failure to be true to your word and provide that security...and then when they point out the plain honest fact that the security was inadequate and totally absent for periods...you wish to lodge a complaint against them? Have the Pakis gone stark raving mad??? This is WARPED!!!

I thought the driver mentioned the terrorists had beard and on tv they had beard. Whatever happened to their beard?
They're not actual terrorists that planned this attack....just mere scapegoats to show that the Paki police is doing 'something' :winky:
What a moronic comment! So is everyone supposed to criticize PCB only if someone was seriously injured or heavens forbid, killed? Lax security is lax security. Its Pakistan’s remarkable fortune that none of the players were seriously injured or killed. Broad must be seething under his skin for consenting to travel to Pakistan to begin with.

wow, JUST wow! are you effin kidding me? Butt speaking from his butt!

The driver is also a supporter of Jamaat e islami the jihadi militant group. He said " This attack would never have happened under Jamaat" He has a picture o his brother in his house with a kalshinikov, camaflouge cap and radio. printed on photo " Mujahid martyred in Kashmir. Died Udampur, India, 25th August 1995. Codename Abdullah"
