Holysmoke Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Has been a revelation in the last year or so. He's almost become Sehwag-like, or maybe better as Sehwag has not been as effective and consistent in ODI cricket. Discuss.
Cricketics Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Ya Delhi-Daredevil effect. Before that he was a trash pick up guy in Lankan team. Now he is their star
zubinpepsi Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 another bully who blossomed in the era of pie throwers...
gaurav92 Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 tmd is in the form of his life.He enjoys the game and is truly a "daredevil" well played tmd today and hope u continue flourishing the way you have :adore: with that we wont miss viru
Sachinism Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I think it started against Pakistan. They put him in the form of his life and it hasn't stopped since then.
Ram Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Yea, whats with him these days?! Ever since he was promoted to open, his consistency has been metronomical these days. He has always been a dangerous batsman, but never dangerous enough to be considered one of the imminent threats. He used to come in the middle-order, slog a few and then get out. These days, he is converting those starts into meaty innings. I am sure he has tweaked his technique a little, either with input from someone else or by figuring out things for himself.
Celeste Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Dilshan has improved his game but better than Sehwag? If you're talking about the last one year and thereabouts then do a fact check please. Dilshan in NZ series showed that he can be as deadly as Sehwag in tests. But in 20/20 & ODIs there is no comparison,Sehwag always throws his wicket after few quick runs. All teams will have Dilshan over Sehwag any day.
The Outsider Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 He is one of the most dangerous batsmen during the powerplay, but can be contained and frustrated into mistakes if there are no fielding restrictions. Teams should not opt for their power play after 10 overs if he is still around, but by that time he has done the damage anyways. It's quite interesting that teams have simply not been able to find a way to curb his batting at the top of the order.

And please in tests it's not even a comparison. Let him score some runs away from Sri Lankan pitches first.

cowboysfan Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 how sick is the DD team with both dishan and viru in the team?.the sad thing is they wont win any trophies.
The Outsider Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 how sick is the DD team with both dishan and viru in the team?.the sad thing is they wont win any trophies. Well, Dilshan has hit this patch this year and Sehwag was out injured most of the time.
Sachinism Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 how sick is the DD team with both dishan and viru in the team?.the sad thing is they wont win any trophies. With GG and ABD
cowboysfan Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Well' date=' Dilshan has hit this patch this year and Sehwag was out injured most of the time.[/quote'] both played in ipl1 and still lost the final.
The Outsider Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 both played in ipl1 and still lost the final. They reached the semis on both occasions - after that it's always going to be hit or miss in T20.
coffee_rules Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 They reached the semis on both occasions - after that it's always going to be hit or miss in T20. You mean it's not before the semis?
The Outsider Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 You mean it's not before the semis? Individual games are but over 14 matches you would generally get the best teams. And then there are teams like KKR as well to consider :giggle:
Chaos Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 wtf? comparing dilshan to sehwag. It is an insult to sehwag. Cant put them in the same breath. This nig barely started scoring runs.
flamy Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 If by few runs' date=' you mean 80s and 90s then you're right :hmmm:[/quote'] :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:
