Dilshan has been in superb form for sometime now. But he will have to be very consistent to be compared to someone like Sehwag. So far, he has been very good.

Dilshan is poor man's Sehwag. His strike rate in tests is around 80 and in one dayers over 100. Dilshan's strike in ODIs is just 82.

And everything else that he brings to the game of cricket. All he needs is a Rolls Royce made of Gold, an ivory walking stick and cricket would have to crown him the grand poobah of batting. What happened? Not that long ago he was a middle order struggler who never really did enough and had a pretty ordinary record. Now he is the dog’s bollocks, the cat’s pyjamas, the moose’s caboose. On one level I want to know how this struggling dude made it to the top of the mountain. But on the other hand, **** it. Let us just enjoy this gift of awesomeness that has surely been delivered by our God of Sehwagology. Amen, Dilshan, Amen. :hysterical::hysterical: But I'm not surprised at all with his success as an opener. He was just another batsmen who doesn’t enjoy batting in the low middle order in limited over cricket… use to bat at no 6-7 in most of the matches and that is not a comfortable positions for most batsmen. To my memory even Sachin was not very successful in ODIs until he was promoted as an opener. There is no doubts Dilshan had the talent… I remember Ian Chappel praising about his talent even when he fails.

hes failed in the past dosen mean , hes crap ...from what I have seen Silva is a better batsmen than Kandamby & Mathews ..SL wasted him playing at 5& 6 , like they did with Dilshan in the past

Give this Guy some Brain I know thats the way he plays but he shud be sensible enuff to understand the match situation and playing conditions before trying tio play the extravagant strokes of a good ball.U should try to discover the outcome of the shot attempted Yes i m talking about t m dilsj=hant and what a way to get out..a loose stroke to a ball that perhaps could have easily being left alone or just caressed thru the covers instead of trying to hit that too hard U know when u try and hit a seaming ball too hard u may edge it or get the outer part of the bat which will result in the ball spooning in the air towards gully and point The web was set for him and he obliged :(( Discuss about his innings today

The kind of player he has become, it was a ball to whack away for four. Most of the hard hitters would have gone after that ball. and just didn't get the proper height on the ball and hence was caught at point.
