But then, since extremists too are idiots, I was wondering if, due to its bombastically chauvinist antics, whether it actually ended up inspiring any future suicide bombers? The film was such a big hit that a sequel of sorts arrived in Pakistani cinemas sometime in the mid 1990s. 'Kolachi' looks interesting, and I would pay to see it. I'll reserve my comments on the state on progressive movie-making in Pak till there are more contenders. That said, one always doesn't need special effects or big budgets to make good movies. 'Memento' certainly didn't need any, and neither did 'Ramchand Pakistani.'

The whole thing about calling the press before the hanging was a little over the top. ( remember : Phir bhi dil hai Hindustani) . All in all a realistic movie, and like all realistic movies it was very depressing. :((
achilles Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Pakistani TV shows remind me of the Indian scene in the 80s and their films have a C-grade feel to it. Content wise, their films are good. Khuda Kay Liye was amazing. So is Bol, from what I've heard. Had Pakistan actually focused on developing themselves, they would be a great country today.

Rajiv Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 I have seen HASB-E-HAAL, and I can safely say that some Pak TV shows have a better sense of humour than ours. Some have taken the mickey outta the politicians but its not just the getup but the dialoque delivery is too good I also have lotta respect for the likes of Shahnaz Sheikh, Behroze Sabzwari who remained authentic to Pakistan Television and didn't fall for Indian Movie Industry.
