akshayxyz Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Astrology is actually an ancient 'science', in the sense - it is some extremely primitive and hand-crafted predictive/classification model/hypothesis, using very limited (both in # of dimensions, and # of samples), and erroneous (and biased) sample data and rarely updated with new information. Biased in the sense, errors by the astrology model do not get as much 'limelight' as much as 'correct' predictions do. Which is why, even though for some select test cases it might have some 'success', but in general - it is going to have extremely high generalization error in making predictions. This is as close as astrology can hope to get to science.
