achilles Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 As for Yuvi, he's not a 100% fit apparently, and bring in Virat someone
DomainK Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Okay..I stand corrected on VVS. Yes, my memory failed me..Hope he does well in rest of the series and many more matches to come.. What about UV then? Do you guys feel he justifies his selection in the team? I'm anticipating an attack from North.. lol He disappoints me because he is such a talented playe but it seems he has wrong attitude.. I think the way he got out ticked you off. I was also ticked off. VVS can look very ordinary some times, but that can happen to any player. Largely, he still is one of the best test bats in the world. As far as Yuvi is concerned, he is fast outliving his life in tests. Soon someone more worthy will take over.
Sooda Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Yuvraj has been ok in tests too over the last year, averages nearly 50 I think im right in saying, that too at no.6. Punjabi K posted that somewhere. This was on bad innings and looks like (correct me if im wrong) loose shotmaking caused by overconfidence is the reason. From what I read on cric seems like Banglas are doing exactly what they did agst us in the WC 07 match: tight bowling and sharp fielding. If we can get 230ish and restrict them to about the same, we still going to win
asterix Posted January 17, 2010 Author Posted January 17, 2010 Yes, Domaink..The way he VVS got out, ticked me off. I was hoping for VVS and Sachin to consolidate. The kind of bowling they were facing was bread & butter stuff for them. I've seen VVS (being a fron foot player) getting off balance while going through his shots many a times.. Yes, that was an ugly way to get out and got me thinking about his agility etc.
Ram Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 What about UV then? Do you guys feel he justifies his selection in the team? I'm anticipating an attack from North.. Dude, the guy is still establishing himself in the test team. You do understand that, if not for him, we'd have definitely not won both the India-Eng series and Ind-SL series dont you? In both those series, he played valuable innings in the first tests that helped a)win a test and b)draw a test. After his disastrous Australia tour, this is one of the rare failures Yuvi has had, especially when the going got tough for the team, which is why I was extremely confident today that he will deliver today. Unfortunately, he got out to a poor shot. Such things can happen to anyone. Ultimately, you cannot drop/pick people on the back of some isolated bad/good performances. Yuvraj had to wait nearly 8 years before he could get a permanent spot in the middle order. Give him some time, dont jump to conclusions on the drop of a hat. In my opinion, he's an ideal no.6, perfectly capable of batting with the lower order. And even though there are questions marks on his technique against fast bowling and quality spin, but he has shown that is capable enough against both these two.
Temujin Khaghan Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 I think the way he got out ticked you off. I was also ticked off. VVS can look very ordinary some times, but that can happen to any player. Largely, he still is one of the best test bats in the world. As far as Yuvi is concerned, he is fast outliving his life in tests. Soon someone more worthy will take over. definitely he will play the 2nd test against bang and the first test against the saffers . i think when he fails against the saffers, thats it for him. murali will get his spot.
DomainK Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 definitely he will play the 2nd test against bang and the first test against the saffers . i think when he fails against the saffers' date=' thats it for him. murali will get his spot.[/quote'] Yes, he still has a few more matches. And given the evidence of talent, he deserves the chances. If he can get himself together, he still can have a career. Today was a huge opportunity for him to step up and perform and show that he can do it. But he failed. Again. The rope is getting shorter with every match and it will eventually run out.
Bumblebee Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 VVS is a proven Test saver OTOH, Mr. Yuseless-in-Tests of Fatraj fame can be dropped. Try M.Vijay for Test-2 your post smells like Idli Sambar!:finger:
Lord Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 definitely he will play the 2nd test against bang and the first test against the saffers . i think when he fails against the saffers' date=' thats it for him. murali will get his spot.[/quote'] I think he'll play both tests against Saffies.n i dont think Murali should replace him.hes an opener n can bat at 1,2, n 3.i would like Kohli or Dhawan to replace UV
King Tendulkar Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 One failure and he gets hammered, madness! What next? Why is laxy so slow at running, no doubt accusations of unproffesionalism balh blah. p.s am sure yuvi would win a fitness test competition against laxy easy! So is laxy unprofeesional blah blah??:winky:
saneindian Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Lol at OP, next what? Drop GG as he has failed too?
HouMac Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Has the OP been in a coma the last few years? VVS has been one of our most clutch batsmen. Darn consistent too.
punjabi_khota Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 ******s like OP Have been paki-brainwashed. Don't have any thing else to do, so lets start a " drop xxx" thread after one innings. :finger: Drop VVS ? :WTF: Fineleg meanwhile keeps getting aroused with badri/murali/ in every thread.
Fontaine Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Any time we have a bad day at the office we have idiots like this guy creating threads about dropping players, that player sucks, this players sucks. This place becomes such a joke any time India do anything less than be the absolute best team ever.
urbestfriend Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Bump! Now Look at OP's profile pic :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:

saneindian Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 OP has a habbit of writing outrageous posts about every player who has had a few failures.
