Most people on this thread and elsewhere blame Srikkanth for the selection, does he have the final say or is it still the majority vote gets selected, which would mean it is just not him but every body is to blame?

Chief selector is the one who has to finally answer everyone, but I am sure everyone puts their "ungli" in the process.

this makes no sense.nehra was the pick of the bowlers for them in both ipl1 and ipl2.

No new bowlers have emerged to stake their claims.It is all about retreads like Irfan or Murali Karthik, even Vinay Kumar can be classified as retread . Aussies have lost Brett Lee, Siddle and Hilfanhaus but they seem to come up with better bowlers in Bollinger and Ryan harris,

I want us to go with only 4 main bowlers (I would include Jadeja as a T20 bowler if I include him as I dont find his T20 batting anything worthwhile.. even Bhajji and PK are better than Jadeja in T20 than Jadeja) The four bowlers now should be: Zak PK Bhajji Only the fourth bowler is a concern and I will probably go with Jadeja .. if the pitch assists fast bowlers I would go with Vinay Kumar or even Nehra In an ideal condition I would like PK to complete at least 3 of his 4 overs at the start as he is a very good bowler with the new ball but not that good at the death ... Zak's overs can be divided 2-2 at the start and death .. UV, YP, Viru and Raina can fill in the 5th bowler's quota

Ravindra Jadeja is not:secret:. He is the trump card. Why did you think Modi, BCCI etc played out this drama of banning himf rom IPL, because they didnt want to expose all our tactics especially the trump card to the world!!!!!

sreesanth and ishanth should have been selected. I would play this bowling line up Irfan sreesanth ishanth piyush bhajji in that way we will get to see some high scoring thrillers. and all those against rohit should just s*** it up. the guy has vast unexploited potential. did you see the sixes he hit against tait? the guy is a class act. koli and utappa don't come anywhere near it.

Irfan is a big noo. I cannot understand why people love him, he is not a good bowler at all,especially when you basically have a right handed version of him in praveen kumar.In WI, already the lack of pace could be a problem, you would not want to have 2 slow bowlers. Between him and kumar, of course choose kumar has he is a better fielder and more importantly does what is expected of him as a bowler not as a batsman. Regarding Panday and Utappa, if selected what the use of them when we have the best openers and raina is better than utappa for the 3rd postion. It was a better decision to have sharma as he has the form and attitude to play in the middle batting order which imo is a problem with Yuvi not at all in form.
