Watson87 Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Yeah Dinesh Karthik is a way better batsman than Raina and Rohit put together. Raina is way overrated, he looks worse than Murali dealing with short balls.
fineleg Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 piyush chawla Nohit Sharma Vinay Kumar Jadeja Fatraj Singh out of shape, out of form This mediocre team selection has ensured early return ticket from West indies.
vvvslaxman Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 with everyone taking about the batsmen' date=' I think our bowlers will be key[/quote'] I mean when flood is well above your head.. it doesn't matter if it is one feet or two feet. We have given up on our bowling scope.
Ramzz Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 arre tics' date='i never said you drop raina.he is must in our limited overs teams, even with his problems with the short ball.he has improved his bowling too.My pick is with rohit, karthik has been in awesome form and quite frankly a better finisher and he keeps the strike rotating.[/quote'] Totally agree, the last t20 world cup really exposed our inability to deal with the short in the 20 over format as the batsmen have no choice but to attack it to maintain a good RR. In the ODI format, he might get away as he can let those balls go...but in t20...letting balls go is a cardinal sin. I hope Raina, YP, RS and all the young guys practice hard against short pitch bowling in order to improve their shot selection and make their weakness their strength.
mhr123 Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 For me it wud be Combo of DK , Raina and MSD ... even if 2 of these three click in the middle order then we are in for a good score.
saneindian Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Rohit and Raina will be crucial with their bowling. In fact if Sehwag, Yuvraj, Raina and Rohit bowl well, we will have a good time in t20 WC. Viru, GG, Yuvi, Dhoni, Raina, Yusuf, Jadeja, Bhajji, PK, Zak and Vinay/Nehra With the pitches in WI likely to be slower, the bowling of Viru, Yuvi, Yusuf, Raina, will be a huge plus for us. These guys need to bowl at least 1-2 overs everygame and bowl them well.
b555 Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 going by their current performance in the ipl.. not a single player seems like he can readily get into the grove of the match condtn then and there... all depends on luck i say
diegovegaz Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 kaarthick over rohit our top order is heavy, not much place for rohit kaarthick can be an ideal finisher
someone Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Please explain why the problem against Rohit? Imo, he is one of the key players as we basically only have sharma and dhoni who play sensible cricket without slogging as their key strength. If we collapse with batting, rohit is a key as he has done well in those situations. Moreover, another key point is YP, he really should not be a finisher and should come more earlier as he can change the game quickly
The Dark Horse Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Agree about Raina. Rohit, has been good in T20s but he's far too unreliable. I will pick DK over Rohit any day, but the team management would think otherwise:phehehe:
