maniac Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Ok here is my review of the dawn of the planet of the apes Experience of watching in a theatre movies like this has to be seen in a theatre....if you are watching them on pirated links or even on tv or DVDs it is not doing justice to the cgi ....As far as the theatre goes,one of the best maintained theaters I have seen in the u.s,nice seats and very clean and tidy....but being a proud desi :isalute: I spilled a lot of popcorn and some of my drink as a mark of I WAS THERE.....just a footnote good local theaters in some part of India> multiplexes in amreeka or India for the matter of fact.so that's a high praise,believe me.Anyways watched it in 3d.so my recommendation here is that the story and cgi was so intense that watching it in 3d is not a big deal,if you want to save some bucks standard format in a theatre is good enough. Initial Trailers best part about watching a movie in theaters are the trailers. There have been situations were I felt the trailers were better than the movie itself....anyways I am kind of tipsy and I have a memory of a goldfish when it comes to non-cricketing trivia but you guys are smart enough to google it so here is the description of the trailers I saw. A Ben Affleck suspense move directed by David Fincher-looks like a must watch.....absolutely intrigued...will check it out for sure Guardians of the galaxy-mandatory blockbuster from marvel looks ok but will watch it for sure :giggle: just to keep up for avengers 2 or 3. Judge(I think the name was) *ng Robert Downey jr....looks like a drama that can wait for netflix or other streaming sites. Also a couple of other trailers that obviously didn't stick out Storyline if you loved the first movie than you will love this too.it is not mandatory to watch the first one to understand this but it will make an impact if you watch the first part and then watch this but if you directly watch this you won't be really confused.so recommend to watch the first part but up to you. The first movie was more gripping and had a superior storyline than this one IMHO.nothing groundbreaking about the story itself but like most blockbuster movies,the presentation and screenplay were top notch.as I said the first part just in terms of story and treatment were much better. Acting there is a debate if actors who are represented via graphics should still be nominated for oscars.james Cameron made a case for Zoe Saldana for avatar and similarly (once again memory of a goldfish and too lazy to google) the guy who played gollum and ceaser in part 1 does a fantastic job again.special mention to whoever the f played Kobe,made me really want to hate the character and in a good way which means :clap: fantastic performance.also the main actor was pretty good. Special mention-I hate the fact that one of my favorite actors and arguably one of the G.O.A.T Gary Oldman got low balled in this movie.he could have contributed so much more,even though he has an important role and screen time,what a waste of a mercurial tailunt(equivalent of having rohit on the bench) :mad: Filmmaking and overall review very well made movie.tight script and great cgi....not just the apes,every animal shown was cgi :hatsoff: but as I said I felt part 1 had more of a gripping story and emotion than this one which if you overlook cgi was just a stereotypical story.Anyways not putting down the movie at all...the. Infinity should have been a little stronger but nevertheless well maintained.....I would recommend this movie for not having a single mention of the disaster that is Frieda pinto from the first part :cheer: All in good movie......my rating 3.75/5
