Jadeja = Quota player#2 (after No Hit Sharma of course) Wtf he is in the team already after screwing us in the last WC..
They just wanted to make sure that he is still the same player

I think it was Dhoni's msitake to bring him on again. Any bowler can have off day. Usually Yusuf pathan bowls like this. Today he bowled well. But once you identify who is being targetted you should have taken him off.

Dhoni was almost Afridi like in his approach. Afridi didn't removed Ajmal from that fielding postion until it was too late. Dhoni saw 5 Sixes going off to long hops by that Bhikhari..Finally he chatted with him but by that time it was too late..

Dhonis strategy has been dreadful. His reliance on part time spinners is bonkers! Pathan is not a bowler and needs to go NOW. Not an international cricketer. Need to play at least 4 specialist bolwers. (dont iclude Jadeja as a specialist)

i think dhoni wanted them to take a risk again - who knows... on another day maybe warner might have miscued and given away his wicket... and the commentators would have wanted to suck dhoni's balls.

Guys, look at the squad Dhoni has got. With P Kumar injured our bench seamer is Vinay Kumar - he would have been destroyed by the Aussies. Moreover, if Vinay was playing Rohit would have sat out and we would not even have chased 100. Fact is we don't have the bowling attack to exploit these kind of conditions, so have to take a punt on the batting. Apparently, even that is full of IPL merchants. So all in all we are a mediocre T20 side and would have performed at par by getting eliminated in the Super 8s.

we can only bowl if it isa a dust bowl bcoz we dont have a single odi and t20 match winning fasat bowler

Haha, one new thread for our bad decision This is hindsight at the best, it would have been Dhoni is genious if Jadeja took his wicket in his 2nd over.
this sums up lot of threads that are going around here..

name calling to the players. How stupid can some of us get? When the world cup started we weren't one of the favourites, then after 2 matches we became one of the strongest contenders and now suddenly the team is bad, captain is dumb and blah blah. Somehow I get a feeling that many of the abusers were waiting for this day and praying for our loss. Way to go folks.

in hindsight , its easy to say ..but with the limited bowling options dhoni in way cud afford to take out his 4th bowler only after one over . toss ,again its the team selection which is baffling cos with 8 batsmen batting first really makes no sense

Jadeja had improved a lot over the past year. MSD was dumb for bowling him again after he got spanked by Watson for 3 sixes in a row... but what can a captain do if the bowler insists on bowling half trackers? Today was not MSD's day. Who knows... on another day Warner could have miscued (like he does against other teams) and got out. Bad luck ... hope we persist with Jadeja though. He really did improve a lot as a bowler since last year. This match was a really, really bad day.

It seems our team leadership (Dhoni+Gary+whoever) believes bowling darts for 12 overs can do the trick in T20. This leads to genuine spinners like Mishra being ignored and a bunch of pie chuckers like Jadeja, Yusuf and Yuvi bowling their full quota.

Dhoni is a man of strong convictions and he does take some unconventional decisions. The public has to learn to live with them. You cant call him a brilliant captain when calling Joginder Sharma on at a most crucial time works and then decry him when something else doesn't. I thought he took a HUGE risk by bringing on Joginder Sharma on the same stage and at a much more crucial time but it worked. The guy has his own ideas and backs them fully. You have to take it or leave it. If Bringing on Jadeja again for the second over was a risk, its not the type of risk Dhoni is not known to take. Even backing Jadeja as a bowler before Ojha and Murali Karthik is inexplicable. Any one wiho knows of all three would agree with that but Jadeja has not only been preferred, it has worked, till yesterday. Now we can either think Dhoni is a genius for thinking Jadeja is a better bowler than the other two or a long shot gambler for what he did. You cant have it both ways. Before any one gives the counter point, Jadeja's batting IS better than the other two but it is not reason enough to decry the HUGE difference in their bowling skills and, more importantly, maturity. Where Jadeja suffered yesterday was this later quality although even overall he is no where near the bowler Ojha or Murali are. Most successful captains are men of strong convictions. Our problem is we judge them after the fact, with the 20-20 vision offered by hindsight. Dhoni is a bit more than a man of strong convictions, he is a bit of a gambler and that can look even more successful in success and equally disastrous in failure. It comes with the turf.

MSD was afraid to expose are famed batsmen to the morning moisture...even after picking 7-8 batsmen...that is just baffling. Everyone knows Aussies do struggle when under pressure...especially facing genuine spin...not dart throwers like YP and Jaddu, I was baffled by the way Jaddu bowled...first time I have seen him bowl darts...I have a feeling that MSD bringing him on in the PP overs made him do that. I am sure he noticed how bhajji was bowling from the other end..with flight and guile. He will learn hopefully.
