Manny_Pacquiao Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 btw, i wouldnt be surprised if sehwag got a big 150+ score here. he is batting alongside TENDULKAR, and that makes a huge difference. sehwag always produces his best innings when he is batting with tendulkar. paaji tells him what to do and stops him from taking unnecessary risks. i hope he bats at least 2 hours with tendulkar tomorrow. if he does, sri lanka are gonna be buttloved prison style.
Holysmoke Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 The match is evenly poised, with SL just edging it. I think SL has an advantage, purely because they already have the runs on the board. But the ball is in our court now, and we have our two best batsmen facing. IF we play well tomorrow, we can snatch an advantage, but say if we lose Sach+Viru early, we're done.
Cricketics Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 I don't know if anyone of you noticed, but Randiv was bowling pretty well plus Sehwag was playing some risky shots ton Randiv too. I think this battle will be the real key tomorrow. If Sehwag can bat the way his way out to another 100 more runs, with Tendulkar anchoring the innings on the other end for 2 sessiion, I think we are going to pile up around about 380 runs tomorrow or may be even 400.

Sehwag is a brilliant player but he will take lot of risks whether SRT is his partner or not. So, it can go either way. Lets hope these two can bat through a session or two. Otherwise SL spinners and Malinga will sense a win.

Ball is turning lot. So even if I get very optimistic it will be huge challenge to score @4. 80 overs @4 could bring at most 320. So please stop dreaming and be realistic buddy. I would say 320 at most plus 180 would be huge score but we certainly want 250 tomorrow. If we can score first 200 quickly then it will be lot easy. Good thing is on the 3rd day with new ball, we have a chance to score faster again. But for that we need to bat through remaining 50 overs with this ball carefully.
dial_100 Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Has finey's account been hacked or something?? Totally new person. Some optimism there..
jhakati Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 This has all the makings of a superb test match. The rate at which India scored the runs today would have surely ruffled the Sri Lankans. Another session of Tendulkar and Sehwag, and Sri Lanka would be right up against it. There is still plenty of batting to come in Laxman, Raina, and Dhoni and with a good platform they can all be expected to chip in and score big. The pitch is starting to show turn, but is by no means unplayable. New batsmen would find it hard to kick off, but a settled batsman well used to the pace of the pitch can score runs here. It's time for the Indian team to stamp their number 1 credentials and score 500-550 runs here by batting all day tomorrow. Hopefully, by the 4th day the pitch would offer more and with a handy lead India can apply some real pressure on Sri Lanka. India's scoring rate is bound to put Sri Lankan on the defensive very soon, possibly as soon as India cross the 300 mark without taking major losses. Both wickets lost by India were criminal - Vijay driving on the up from the back foot and Dravid missing a straight delivery. But I feel the end of the day came just at the right time for the Indian batsmen. Both Sehwag and Tendulkar had started appearing a bit jittery towards the end of the day's play and the overnight break is really going to help them focus. There is always going to be something happening off the pitch from hereon and it's vital that batsmen getting beaten don't allow it to effect their game. It's a major test for the Indian line up, but I feel they've got it in them to come trumps tomorrow and put Sri Lanka under serious pressure going into the fourth day. very good post i think it was a very good bowling effort by india actually this is the time for the indians to show why they r the number one side, need the 2 big guns along with VVS, raina, dhoni and rest of the tail to push for a 600+ total here with that sort of a lead SL will be under immense pressure in the 2nd innings and hopefully crack
coffee_rules Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 D3 Predictions India : 392 a.o SL : 70/1 Sehwag 102 Tendulkar: 51 Raina: 48 Dhoni: 32 Some tail wags.
Cricketics Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 India 7/525 Sehwag - 170 Tendulkar 135 Laxman 48* Randiv - 3/111
jusarrived Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Even if we just about match SL's total , still have good chance of wining this one . SL will be under pressure in the second innings & bowling them out for them ~220 & chasing it down is very possible .

Tendulakr ,Raina & Dhoni score normally at a pretty good pace too
Andy Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 India : 330 a.o SL : 130/1 Sehwag 109 Tendulkar: 51 Raina: 35 Dhoni: 16
Manny_Pacquiao Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Chasing 200+ on a 5th day pitch? too difficult. even this indian batting lineup might not do it. i hope we get a lead.
