fineleg Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Some here will claim Cheeka picked Vijay and Ashwin and the other selectors picked the rest. :winky: achilles heel :winky:
vvvslaxman Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Dont spoil Vijay by playing in all formats
Ram Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 4 pacers in the squad! Daym, so the three pacer strategy is going to continue after all!
yoda Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Dont spoil Vijay by playing in all formats Well he hardly plays tests. In general I agree that we need to limit players if possible to two formats, especially if they aren't in the super fit category.
Sooda Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Vijay is pretty fit and is a sharp fielder; could be tried a few more times in the ODI XI me thinks...got the shots and can strike the ball too.
girishk14 Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Dhoni has been the most over-worked player....I think hez not been rested for this, because hez gonna pull out of entire NZ series
cricket ka bat Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Dhoni knows that he his batting is crap and if he takes a break he might get dropped lol
rkt.india Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Bowling is very weak here.....only Nehara who can bowl well in Indian condition....There will be no swing so PK is neutralized....Dadaji did well in SL on good bowling pitch....if batsman hits him for a four he will give more four balls....Vinay Kumar is not made for International cricket thought he is better than Munna and Now a days when when powerplays are of 20 overs...any team cannot go in a one day match with 2 pacers...3 quicks are necessity in one days now a days....and it may help seamers initially or under lights as winter is starting....they should have picked Rahaane instead of Rohit as he is a middle order batsman and Dhavan is an opener
Lord Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 just saw this so Dhawan will open in first game after getting picked, but Saurabh Tiwary will have to warm the bench coz legend Sharma is there.I'm starting to believe amits.he is quota player along with Jaddu
vvvslaxman Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Vijay averages 60.33 as an opener. His role changes once he moves down the order. He always deliveries whenever he was sent as an opener.
philcric Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 If there was one guy who really needed a bit of a break, it was Dhoni. Keeping + Captaincy is physically and mentally very demanding. Anyways, it looks like the selectors/team doesn't consider this series very important. They have rested so many first choice players, they could have as well rested Dhoni too. Uthappa should have been selected as wk-bat if he was up for keeping, else Dinesh Karthik.
IKnowU Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 just saw this so Dhawan will open in first game after getting picked, but Saurabh Tiwary will have to warm the bench coz legend Sharma is there.I'm starting to believe amits.he is quota player along with Jaddu Dhawan Kohli Rohit Yuvraj Raina Dhoni S. Tiwary Ashwin Jadeja Nehra P. Kumar The batting is absolutely stacked.
spectre Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Dhawan Vijay Raina Kohli Yuvraj Tiwary Dhoni Ashwin Praveen Nehra Munaf UV's lookalike can be the waterboy ;)
The Dark Horse Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Dhawan Vijay Raina Kohli Yuvraj Dhoni Ashwin Praveen Jaddu:cool: Munaf Nehra
IKnowU Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 UV's lookalike can be the waterboy ;) Depends on how many bowlers Dhoni wants to bowl.
diegovegaz Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 good to see harbhajan rested praying ashwin will play Rohit Sharma Shikhar Dhawan Virat Kohli Yuvraj Singh Suresh Raina MS Dhoni R Ashwin Praveen Kumar Vinay Kumar Ravindra Jadeja Ashish Nehra
spectre Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Depends on how many bowlers Dhoni wants to bowl. Dhoni already got Yuvraj and Raina and (partly Kohli) to roll their arms. Rohit wont be missed. he would be missed only for his fielding, which I am not sure how good it is atm
The Dark Horse Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Ada paavi  Annatha treat him as a bowler, not as an all rounder, whether u like it or not Dhoni will play him:giggle: Only way of knowing who is better(Ashwin/Jaddu) is by playing them both.
ZodiaC Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Annatha treat him as a bowler, not as an all rounder, whether u like it or not Dhoni will play him:giggle: Only way of knowing who is better(Ashwin/Jaddu) is by playing them both. He's alright as a bowler at times to stop the flow of runs - but not good enough to be considered as a genuine bowler, and less said about the batting the better. Ashwin better perform well And I think yes we'll have to get on with it :((
