Maybe we could pound them 2-0 and then have some rotation
LOL, you still believe that this NZ team could threaten us here? :giggle: We need to rest Lachu, Veeru and gauti. goddy and dravid can play :icflove:

Totally agree with Raina keeping his place, once Lax comes back he takes his place too. Pujara sits out. Pujara should NOT bat at no 6 for me, surely thats far too low for him, esp as he is not so experienced at the Intl stage (unlike Raina) we cant expect him to bat with the tail. And in any case he is a top order batsman, has been all his life. 4, or 5 at the lowest. Raina has earned his spot for a few more tests. Its not a choice between Raina or Pujara. If Raina is out injured, Lax can bat at 6, CP at 5.

Can he bat down the order? I wouldn't drop Sehwag or Gambhir for him.
He has failed every time he was pushed down the order. He batted better only when he was an opener. It is a tricky situation.

You sure you want to rest Viru?SA series coming up , and the last series he played that is against AUS. He didnt fare too well. By his standards.

For Test Batsmen, we have a great pool: tendulkar, dravid, laxman, sehwag, gambhir, vijay, pujara, raina, yuvraj, rahane, badrinath, kohli, sharma Thats like 13 choices for 6 spots. Did I miss any names??

Make it 9 Brilliant batsman and 6 places! As no doubt Kohli is showing he is class and perfectly suited to test match cricket as well! If Pujara, Vijay or Kohli were any other nationality they would be hailed as amazing talents and be straight in to test side. Its shows that when the legends do retire our future is in very safe hands. These guys will deliver and develop and make their own mark on history. Bloody hell we are good!

Like always there is a caveat attached to every young Indian batsmen. Show your calibre abroad on different pitches with more bounce and grass. Raina is not very inspiring. Kohli looks good but untested. Pujara again untested. Same for Vijay. Effectively we have 5 top class batsmen we can bank on, not so sure about the rest yet

I would add Saurabh Tiwary to this list (from an ODI perspective). He is a future batting star for us and one player who is going to win us many many matches.

I think this is what the selectors feal is our second string batting line up abhinav mukund- is probably the 4th choice opener. murali vijay- back up opener Pujara-run scoring machine that lived up to the hype deserves to be in the squad right now. Rahane-run scoring machine whos stock went up after his quickfire century vs australia. Kohli- probably next in line in the mid order after Pujara. Roht sharma - Selectors are blinded by his talent, so am I. our 3rd sting batting line up is pretty decent too. Shikar Dhawan Wasim jaffer Badrinath Manish Pandey Manoj Tiwary Yuvraj Singh

With all the young guns and the prospects I see Yuvraj Singh in all probability can kiss his Test chances good bye. I do not see this dude vastly improving from here on for him to really press for a Test place. When I see the FC scene there a lot of better options than Yuvraj that can serve India for a longer time if one looks at the big picture.
