CSK Fan Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 how do you think Indian fans will react if we win the first test against SA ? We would be jumping up and down with joy, but if we were ranked 4th in the world, we wouldnt be talking about being no 1 yet
Sid Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 The team we are talking about lost a test series in WI 1-0 in 2009:giggle:
vvvslaxman Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 14 years running... still to win a series against India :giggle:
hari504504 Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 But I do fear for our team once the batting trinity hang up their boots. England has noone approaching retirement for atleast another 5 years
Sachin=GOD Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 But I do fear for our team once the batting trinity hang up their boots. England has noone approaching retirement for atleast another 5 years well, Ganguly, Dravid and Laxman went from the ODI team a long while back and now even Sachin plays only selective ODIs but we seem to have found quite a few good replacements in the ODIs - at the Test level obviously its going to be a bit difficult but I think players like Yuvraj, Pujara, Rohit, Raina, Kohli etc, if given adequate opportunities, will be good enough.
goose Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Can't stop others from saying how they feel. I long for the day when the debate is who is number two not who is number one.
Ram Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Whats wrong with some of you guys? What wrong did Michael Vaughan say? Some of you are reacting as though he said he’s going to kidnap your kids..! If I am England team supporter, watching them play the way they’re doing right now, I’d feel exactly the same way too. They definitely are the most improved team in the last 36 months and have a very good chance of becoming no.1.
Serani Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Weird how defensive you all got, kinda like you fear the mighty england and how much potential it has compared to your team full of ageing superstars and piss poor bowlers. Interesting, very interesting
Serani Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Who gives a **** about Vaughan? He also said that if England win the toss in 2nd test' date= they'll be looking to bat first. What did England do? They bowled first! Well he is a guy that was rated as the best batsman in the world and happened to be one of the greatest captains of modern time, so I think he is more qualified than everyone on this site to comment on the issue at hand.
saneindian Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Weird how defensive you all got, kinda like you fear the mighty england and how much potential it has compared to your team full of ageing superstars and piss poor bowlers. Interesting, very interesting Lol. Take Swann out of the "great" team and see how they struggle. may happen on this tour itself. Broad has broekn down, next on the list would be Anderson and then Swann..lets see how the "great" team copes.
Serani Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Not really, we have at least 10 fast bowlers that could walk into the Indian side, hahaha.
Clarke Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Taking the lead in the Ashes in Australia does lift some Englishmen to cloud nine.
Cricketics Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Just hope Australia win this Ashes, and this will make Vaughan look silly as he would have said this quite early after just winning a test in Aus.
Ram Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Not really' date=' we have at least 10 fast bowlers that could walk into the Indian side, hahaha.[/quote'] Thanks, but no thanks. You might play the Commonwealth XI, but we play the Indian XI. :winky:
putrevus Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 nothing wrong in day dreaming , keep dreaming Mr Vaughan. We beat you with half of our team not in form and we spanked your sorry ass team when you toured back in 2008, get ready for another spanking next summer. This dream will turn into nightmare when Indians start spanking Swann and Anderson all over the park next summer.
achilles Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Weird how defensive you all got, kinda like you fear the mighty england and how much potential it has compared to your team full of ageing superstars and piss poor bowlers. Interesting, very interesting Typical English jibe, eh?
Clarke Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Weird how defensive you all got, kinda like you fear the mighty england and how much potential it has compared to your team full of ageing superstars and piss poor bowlers. Interesting, very interesting It would really be an insult to world cricket (and not just India) if ur commonwealth XI is the #1 side in test cricket. The so called aging superstars will outperform each of ur batsmen day in & day out. The piss poor bowlers will perform as well as urs on ur pitches. BTW those ten seamers will be whacked left right and center if at all they are fit enough to finish the test series and play the odis when they tour India.
Serani Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Commonwealth XI? Only Trott is a product of South African cricket! Very hypocritical as most of you guys live in the UK, US to earn a living too, get a life.....oh you got one in the UK!
Clarke Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 KP/Morgan ? I can't answer for others but i was born in India and shall die as well. But that's besides the topic. The thing that annoys most of us is how every other cricket expert comes out and claims how India is not the true #1 yada yada, despite three years of consistency. What we have now is one good game from England down under and that is enough to decide on their ability as per the #1 rankings. Really ? Can we please have the same yardstick for both teams :wall:

And surely if Vaughan is saying England can "dethrone" India that would be implying that they are the king? Surely this is what your collective victim mentality has been craving for some time.
