Cricket worldcup 2011 will be the most boring worldcup ever....Thanks to BCCI... Must comment

Or maybe you are too naive to understand it????
First of all it is the ICC and ALL the boards, not ICC and BCCI. :finger: Banglistan recently beat NZ, so they belong to the top tier teams. May be you can move Pakistan to the bottom rung just to keep the numbers the same. :hehe: Football world cup was good cause they have an extensive qualification process. Cricket has none except for the lower rungs to see who makes it to the World cup. Football is played by the whole world, where as cricket is played just by those you have listed. What do you want to do? Split up 10 teams into groups of 2 each and make up 5 groups? :giggle: Teams like Ireland and Bangladesh can and will do a lot of damage to keep stalwarts like Pakistan (:giggle:) sweat it out. Don't worry, there will be enough excitement for your fans. :hehe:

I really thought that we would have some serious debate but all you care about is bashing pakistan. Like i said before enjoy your fame while its lasts secondly 92 worldcup had its flaws but the format was perfect. format ensured every match meant some thing. There were no duck and lewis method at the time, that was probably the biggest flaw. Any ways enjoy watching five weeks long 42 group stage match

Super six was a boring format, atleast with this format you will get 4 QF + 2 SF + 1 Final = 7 Breathtaking games. World cup is not about the best team, its about the team which can handle the pressure and move on, it might be just by a fluke or not. SA was the best team in WC 96 and WC 99, but did they even reach the finals? NO, thats what WC is all about. If you want to blame BCCI for even a bird pooping on you, i would suggest you go to PP forums, they do it there :haha:

You son of ******** :haha: They're trying to be inclusive and promote cricket among other nations. Do you blame the ATP because there's loads of avg/below avg players for more than half the tournament ? Do u really care about the sport or is it that u want eliminations asap ?
use your brain, thats why its there for. Ten teams ,where every teams plays against each other followed by semifinals and finals will ensure that every team play atleast nine matches before eliminated so get your facts right. And you are saying ICC is hosting a boring worldcup to promote cricket.Wow. what a brain. Might as well have 150 teams then

Fluke or not, winner is the winner. What's the point of having the top teams having a go at each other over and over again and the only top 5 or 6 teams winning over several decades? This format will provide the other minnow six teams a fair reason to work hard and play with all their heart. Until now the minnows existed in the WC just for the sake of having 12 teams. The earlier format obviously failed as Australia managed to win three world cups in a row. We will have many breath taking games. Two teams from each group will simply make it to the quarter finals but then the fight for the third and the fourth spot in each group will be interesting. I personally don't like this format but at least we are trying to do something different with a good incentive. I want to see 20 odd teams playing the cricket world cup in the future. This format may help expend the sport of cricket in different corners of the world. Ultimate dream: India winning the world cup and Sachin Tendulkar holding the WC trophy in the center of the Wankhede stadium as tens of thousands of fans cheer on and on and on as the whole country of India goes into festive mood for the time being.

You think having more teams in the worldcup will expand cricket. Your right. Every one will be so excited to watch a match between australia and india (both teams will have qualified for the quarter final by then) in front of 100 spectators. This worldcup will be exactly like 1996. Not a single soul in more than 75 percent of the matches and packed up stadium in 7 matches. Like i said before, good luck watching 42 long, boring, dull matches

If u don't like the league matches, don't watch them, period. Further, don't blame it on BCCI & hindoo zehniyat. The minnows do not get to play quality teams in general and when they do so at a grand stage, u have a problem with it.

While I agree with the OP about the format being a lil too over done. But still it is better than the lottery system of WC 2007. I like the 1999,2003 format and the 92 format as well. All three were good formats. If the 2007 format had the following changes, then it would have been ideal for my liking... a) 2 rounds of matches in the first groups so that the impact of flukes like Ireland and Bangles becomes less. So each team would have played 4 group games instead of 2. If in 4 games Bangles and Ireland managed to come second in the group then they deserve it, and the stronger nation which did not win 2 matches deserves to be knocked out b) Now you have 8 teams...go for QF, SF, and Finals. Anyway, the OP was more interested in trolling than having an orderly debate. The accusations of BCCI-Mossad-Jewish-Zionist conspiracy was uncalled for and his/her smileys left no doubt as to his intentions.
