Cricket_Guru Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 cant believe it this player hasn't been selected so far. i couldn't find a thread on him, so made another one, if there is one please merge. UzQ0if2dxs4&feature=player_embedded#!
hari504504 Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 he's a clear successor for ponting as a batsman... Shades of Lara in that innings.. the backlift and footwork uncanny..
Cricketics Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 He looks good but he was regularly given chance against England in the recent Ashes Warm ups and failed to score much. Hence, not in the team. Even if he would have made a single 50, they would have picked him.
Cricket_Guru Posted December 14, 2010 Author Posted December 14, 2010 this thread was created only with one purpose, that if aussies selectors can opt to play a guy with 5 first class games and no experience, then why not this lad, khawaja has stats to back his selection for aussie team up, also this was an excellent knock, which deserved a thread of its own anyway. lads sorry but i think my one post in chit chat has ruined my career on icf i think, why I wrote that post was a different matter, but since that post, even apnay dost bhi dushmani dikha rahey hain! :((
Jimmy Cliff Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Looks class. Infinitely better than the likes of North. His shots square on the offside are very Saeed anwar-like.
jusarrived Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 classy & looks very indian to me with his batting style
Clarke Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 CG relax, its a matter of time before he's playing in Aussie colors.
Guest Gunner Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 He looks terrific. Need to see more of this guy.
Sachin=GOD Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Looks really good right now. Should (hopefully) play in the Ashes.
Jersey #10 Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 He has Ponting written all over him. I can imagine Ponting playing every single one of those shots. The straight, square and off drives are replicas of Ponting's shots.
vvvslaxman Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 He plays all around the wicket. Would be interesting to see how he would go about against international spinners.
Dravid Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 talent there and as usual oz commentators hyping every shot up..
Cricketics Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 I watched the clip again. He reminds me of Nick Knight
Robelinda Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Looks pretty much exactly like Mark Butcher, that backlift and everything, the drives, total copy of Mark Butcher.
cowboysfan Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 i will laugh when the aussies pick steven smith to replace north. They need a real batsman and not someone faking at being an all-rounder.they could have used khawaja more than Smith if the pitch is as green as predicted.
Bradman99 Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 He looks good but he was regularly given chance against England in the recent Ashes Warm ups and failed to score much. Hence' date=' not in the team. Even if he would have made a single 50, they would have picked him.[/quote'] Yeah, no doubt about it. It was either him or Smith for this test, but they opted for Smith. I think that's understandable if they aren't going to put Beer in, but if they are then I'd probably have gone for Khawaja. His time is going to come very soon, no doubt about it.
