You guys are ABSOLUTELY deluded if you think India will bat for 2+ days against Steyn & Morkel. This is not NZ folks. This test is gone. Although we have a good batting lineup that failed, but come to the realization that our bowling is utter crap, club level and is more so without Zak. India will slip down from no. 1 soon and deservedly. With this kind of bowling, how can a team stay at the top? ANAL RAPE CONTINUES!!!!!!

Probably Adelaide 2008
That's almost three years..omg! Let's hope law of averages comes to the rescue and Viru plays long innings which will make sure we won't lose this test by an innings :--D

Its not about Law of averages, At that time he was Playing for his place in the side. He didnt make too many before than Inngs and had to make some runs, His approach to that inngings was completely different to most of His centuries that have came afterwards. He was watchfull in his Shot Selection. It was a Very 'Classy' Knock . He played few such inngs early in his career Before 2003. Was for me one of the Best Sehwag had ever played. He is over confident this days and his First Innegs dismissal to get out was a cLassic example.

Sehwag 70 overs in 2nd Inn? :hmmmm: More like 5-10 overs is what he'll last. SA will declare soon on Day-4. They'll score quickly and declare soon to counter any rain. They will get India all out within 2.5-3 sessions after declaration.

India won't lose this test. If India loses this test, then I promise you I won't log in on this website until world cup begins. I would continue to suppor the team though and would hope they would win the remaining 2 test and win the series. Which i still believe we will even if we go on to lose this test. To Hell with Rest. India for life..

When was the last time Viru lasted more than 70 overs in the 2nd innings of a test!?
The better question would be how many times have Sehwag lasted more than 50 overs leave alone 70 in the team 2nd innings of a Test match in his entire career to this point.

I don't think anyone here is praying for India to lose but let's face reality,please..with 3 days remaining they are leading by 230 runs with 8 wickets in hand!! they will easily add another 200 runs before tea tomorrow that leaves them with a lead of more than 400 runs and most importantly 200 odd overs to bowl out India..from here on it's an uphill task even for a star studded batting line-up like ours!

Im actually more surprised by the bowling; I was not expecting a huge total batting first on this pitch vs Steyn and Morks (though the nature of the collapse was galling) but I thought Santh and Ishant would do some damage....

same here,i am really surprised at the lack of penetration from our seamers, they could have used a practice match too.

^ Yep, Sid Monga has written a pretty scathing piece from which this excerpt... http://www.espncricinfo.com/south-africa-v-india-2010/content/story/493054.html There was movement to be had here too. And both Sreesanth and Ishant had it aplenty in the first spell. Except that Sreesanth kept erring on the shorter side, not bringing Graeme Smith and Alviro Petersen forward at all, which is where the edges would come. Loud tuck after loud tuck followed off Sreesanth's bowling as both the batsmen could stay back and cover the movement, and also leave balls on length. The stares that he gave the batsmen after they defended balls back to him smack off the middle of the bat grated, and also earned him a lot of heat from the crowd who cheered when he misfielded, and had a lot to say to him. One of them seemingly had to be asked to leave too. Ishant looked likelier to get a wicket, especially with the seam movement he obtained at the start. The first ball he bowled beat Smith, but it was pitched outside leg. The second missed the edge slightly outside off. However, despite the movement Ishant failed to make Smith play enough. His lengths created doubt, his lines ruined the effect. The openers chose to leave 17 deliveries from him, and Smith deliberately played inside the line of several others. Ishant didn't go round the wicket to Smith, nor did he try a bouncer like he meant it. The new ball would set the tone, and there was no doubt as to what kind of music it played. The bouncers arrived when the ball was some 40 overs old, and had some sort of impact on Hashim Amla, but one wonders if that sort of variation would have taken so long coming had Zaheer been there. By then, a selection blunder had also been put on display. Jaidev Unadkat, about as non-violent as the other man from Porbandar who came to South Africa decades ago, clearly is not the fourth-best fast bowler in the country. He didn't swing the ball, he didn't have pace, he wasn't Test-ready. Nor is Umesh Yadav the fifth-best. ----------------- The right lines and lengths, in a totally new country and nature of wicket, getting to know that can only come with practice and practice is only got playing matches. But of course both that and the selection of Unadkat and Yadav has been skewered to death here so no need to start that again...its depressing man...fuming at the board and the selectors...

It's BCCI's fault. How the frack can they expect the team to magically perform in SA without a practice match?!? Trundlers like Unadkat would have been filtered out then. Also the FTBs in the batting lineup would have known what to expect! I strongly believe a 5 test series always works in India's favor against Aus or SA. At least it gives our batsmen a chance to acclimatise and challenge the home side.
