Sachin=GOD Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 This is my 2000th post......................so I hereby declare that after much discussion, debate and deliberation I have come to the conclusion that NORTH>>>>>>>>>SOUTH. :icflove: //thread closed.
The Outsider Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 You must be kidding me. :giggle: No, I am not. Try listening to Mehdi Hassan or Ghulam Ali if you want to hear how authentic Urdu is supposed to be pronounced. Hariharan can't even make a simple distinction between the 'Q' and 'K' sounds as in Qayamat as opposed to Kayamat, or if he can he certainly cannot replicate it in his songs.
Cricketics Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Delhi ownz all of South india.. allrite??? meaning North India wins.

My guru mantra changes for each performance, stage event and song. The formula varies from song to song as I put unique improvisations and methodology into each song." Hariharan perfected his Urdu diction to such standards that even his audiences in Lucknow, the heartland of the language, have been impressed. :dontknow:

Mariyam Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 yo yoda who cares about singing in northie? :dontknow: northies cant even speak southie :hehe: :(( This is true. Not many Northies who stay in the South can speak any of the Southie languages. Southies at least make the attempt to learn non Southie languages.
Sir john Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 :(( This is true. Not many Northies who stay in the South can speak any of the Southie languages. Southies at least make the attempt to learn non Southie languages. what is the need to learn southie. :orderorder:
spectre Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Go ask the countless Northies who come to South to make a living. What I have seen in Chennai is we have lot of our Northie folks who settle down here, adapt the culture, the language and live in harmony. Its great to see that and there is no differences between the people, particularly in Chennai. Lots of punjabi friends speak better tamil than even the natives. what is the need to learn southie. :orderorder:
nikred Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 what is the need to learn southie. :orderorder: Same reason why many southies learn hindi, to communicate. She is talking about the northies living in Southieland. I can understand if the settlers don't know the language well, but people who are born there have no excuse. It just shows that they are not mingling with the local people. This goes out to everyone in general, not only northies.
