vvvslaxman Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 India's odds of winning WC 83=> 1:66 BD's odds of winning WC 2011 => 1:33 India was a well established Test nation and ODIs were far and few in between. That was not a real indicator. Odds of BD winning a world cup is far far higher.
ensd2 Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 They can perform well against team from outside subcontinent . But they lack quality player they only have shakib al hasan and tamim ( still inconsistant) other are ordinary

Sir john Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Bangladesh looks very dangerous, they will going to cause major upset i guess.
DaFan Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Kriterion' date=' that BD guy with the lion that seems to be going nowhere and rest of BD troals including pakeeza[/quote'] I am glad no BD forumer responded to this thread. We just have to wait and see what happens...
Sir john Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 @Dafan this time pressure on ur team to perform better in front of own crowd note it.
someone Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Bangladesh has always been a giant killer in world cups. Have knocked out India and pakistan. Remember? They are a bigger threat at their home as well. Bit like Sri Lanka
Zap_Brannigan Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 There is a difference between formidable and having a chance. They wont be formidable but they do have a chance. There is a good chance that WI wont win against SA,India or England and if BD beats WI, they could then go to the QF. From then on, it could be a lottery for other teams. If BD plays QF in BD on slow turners they could win. Then they have a SF in Sri lanka and win the toss under light, they could win again. Finals would take something really special to win.
DaFan Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 @Dafan this time pressure on ur team to perform better in front of own crowd note it. Understood, I think the current set of players deal with pressure well. Though our chance of winning the WC is slim, I know this team will go very far. As a team these bunch knows how to win.
Mariyam Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 I think they will make it through to the quarters. I think they are a better side than WIndies and can snatch a game away from England and South Africa also. Our first game against them will go down to the wire. I don't expect that to be a walk in the park. My prediction: Bangladesh reach the quarters and lose there.
ravishingravi Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 I don't know about the team but their fans are. " Bangladesh’s secret weapon are their supporters. As an example, here is a motivational fan rap video which I am pretty sure will really push the team to the limit. Titled “You Kuttas and Kuttis” (You dogs and *****es), its lyrics of proud nationalism that go “Ami daal bhaat khai niggah, I am so fresh niggah, I am from Bangladesh” [i have rice soaked with pulses and I am from Bangladesh] and which ends with lines (Panter bhetor ektoo hagoo jhorse) I dare not translate here, is simply put the best inspirational song I have heard for some time. pzmbM8DAdt8 Even this time, the Bangladeshi message boards are full of warnings to India asking them to remind themselves of World Cup 2007 first game and how this time Bangladesh team will humiliate them even worse, in retaliation for not picking Tamim Iqbal in IPL. Some may say that absence of Mashrafe Mortaza (whom the Bangladeshi fans, who love to give their cricketers American nicknames call “Mash”, perhaps in honor of the breakfast of Bangladeshi champions, Mash Potatoes [Aloo Siddho]) and the perennial out-of-form-ness of Ashraful (whose nickname of Ash must rankle Aishwariya even more than married to Abhishek) severely compromise their chances but honestly who cares—-all that matters is whether East Coast rappers (from Sylhet) beat the West Coast ones (from Dhaka) [example insult song: Oh sala ekta bhooter baccha] (The saala is the son of a ghost) and whether India gets humiliated. DaFan Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 OMG the next Enrique Iglesias, so .....f*ggy 3SH3ZlO-oNw
diegovegaz Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 i believe they are gonna give us a hard time in the opener
vvvslaxman Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 i believe they are gonna give us a hard time in the opener After years of cricket they are still a team that depends on upsets. Granted they blanked NZ. But that was just an aberration. Will they upset couple of teams? Possible. Are they formidable? Far from it.
Roshanrocks Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 By now they should have become a formidable team... still lurkin the the "can cause an upset" arena for now...
