Jersey #10 Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 bouncers are not a problem in test and one day matches. u can leave them comfortably. india didnt do well in t 20 world cup because there was huge pressure to score runs with less overs and u cannot afford to leave short pitch deliveries... I understand that but I think the bouncer problem lies within our couple of finishers, namely Raina and YP. Their inability to play bouncers efficiently bothers me. Every ball is important in tight situations especially down the wire during the last 3 overs or even 5 overs. There are practically three knock out stages in this format of the world cup so there is a good chance that at least one out of these three matches will go down the wire. The current Indian team is known for slower starts that means a lot of runs may need to be scored during the last ten overs. Anyways, I just hope that all the issues are sorted out and India wins the glory.

But yeah, keep on underestimating it, works well so far

I do think Indian fast bowler might leak runs in the subcontinent pitches, however they can never leak so much that this Indian batting line up cannot match... So cheer up guys, u people are the favorites... :)

We have the worst economy rates of all teams in the last two years. http://www.espncricinfo.com/magazine/content/story/497612.html ? irrelevant. indian bowlers did superbly in the death overs in all 5 ODIs vs south africa. india of 2 years ago and today isnt the same kind of bowling attack in death overs, they have improved a lot in this aspect of the game. i think india's bowling is gonna suprise a lot of ppl in this tournament, they are much better than the media and public give them credit for. more specifically, i cant see any other team matching india's bowlers on turning tracks. the only way india can lose is if the batsmen dont deliver. everybody knows that the middle order has been out of form for a long time, and that the top order is fighting injuries. thats the real weakness of this team.

Are the majority of the wickets going to assist bowlers ? Will the ball turn as much as it did in Bengaluru ? The problem the stats highlight was the beginning and the end overs, which by and large belong to the seamers. It was the spinners that won us this game, the problem with the quicks might just prop up time and again.
