DomainK Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 IMO they batted better than India, bowled better than India and fielded better than India. After that amazing innings from Strauss chasing such a huge total, they deserved to win it more than India.
don_corleone840 Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 England blew it !!! I think indian players will be more happy at the end than english players.england needed just 57 runs in 46 balls with 8 wicket remaining (i turned of my tv at that point). So at the end , we should not be disappointed with this tie. This was flattest wicket i have ever seen in my life soo even 370 was chaseable target.
nballa Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 so now we are going to fight about who should feel better about a tie? india actually, they are on top of the points table with a better nrr.
Pak_Fan_4_Eva Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Not with decent bowlers, no. India lost it and you have every right to feel frustrated
coffee_rules Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 India should feel good because it broke out of jail.
nballa Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Not with decent bowlers' date=' no. India lost it and you have every right to feel frustrated[/quote'] so you are going to go around telling people how they should feel?
Mandrake Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 so you are going to go around telling people how they should feel? He's trying desperately to feel good-knows what's coming up for the beggar bowls of the world:hysterical:
vvvslaxman Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Not with decent bowlers' date=' no. India lost it and you have every right to feel frustrated[/quote'] If we are going to feel frustrated for conceding 338 runs to England how Should England bowlers feel? :winky:
Ranvir Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Their performance was similar to India, both were good at the start but collapsed big time in the end.
satyam1729 Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 After cheater strauss and F'ked up UDRS , they deserved to lose the match.
The Outsider Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 If they did so many things better than India, how come they were not able to score more runs than India?
Mandrake Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 If they did so many things better than India' date=' how come they were not able to score more runs than India?[/quote'] :hysterical::hysterical: Exactly-56 needed with 8 wickets in hand and miraculously managed a tie with that hugely debatable decision included....
shrapnel Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 IMO they batted better than India' date=' bowled better than India and fielded better than India. After that amazing innings from Strauss chasing such a huge total, they deserved to win it more than India.[/quote'] +1.
retterimp Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 no they didn't, chokers like these don't ever deserve to win and anyway, whats with the self-flogging?? we came back hard and fought like men right till the end
Manny_Pacquiao Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 please explain the rationale behind your statements. how did jimmy anderson bowl better than any of the indian bowlers? the only guy who bowled well on their side was bresnan, and to a lesser extent, yardy. the rest, incl swann, were easy to play. and they were basically out of the game until those two sixes off chawla. almost lost from what was an unassailable position. niether team played well enuff to win, the tie was a fair result.
Mariyam Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Honestly, before the game began I would have given England a 20% chance of winning the game. After our innings I wouldn't even have given them 5% chance of winning the game. But they fought back really well. They weren't overwhelmed. And we too fought back from the brink when they were on auto pilot at 280-2. A draw is a fair result to the efforts of both the teams. I don't think I'll live long enough to see a better ODI game than this one.
Ranvir Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 A draw was a fair result but Chawla messed it up in the 49th over by conceding two sixes.
gult Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 I don't think they played any better than us as a team although there were exceptional individual performances from their team.
Karan114 Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Don't agree. As Indian fans we are obviously more interested in where our team struggled so that we can improve in the subsequent games and hence more threads/posts on our performance, but both India and England had some really poor performances lifted by some excellent ones (Sachin, Strauss, Bresnan, Zaheer). A tie was appropriate.
