Do you think Piyush has shown enough to retain his place?? Has Nehra impressed you enough today to claim a spot next match...and if so in whos stead??? Do you still think Ashwin deserves a go???? Did Bhajji need to take a wicket or three, or does his control and experience mean his place in the Xi is still cemented????? Answers on a postcard.

Unfortunately, its not in our hands.... Dhoni will now play Chawla in all the remaining WC games.....he's got his excuse !
zen Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 1. Ind has only two wkt taking bowlers in its squad ----> Zak and Sree .... but we play only one 2. Then we play Bhajji, who bowls dart in the middle overs when the batsmen are looking to build partnership and milk him for singles anyways .... and Chawla, who is probably the worst bowler in the squad 3. Munna has been decent, while Nehra can bowl yorkers and swing at times 4. Ashwin - untried but can pick up wkts based on what I have seen in IPL 5. Part-timers ----> Yuvi has bowled more like a specialist spinner so far .... Pathan can bowl darts too and probably more wkt taking balls then Bhajji The spinners playing a role theory will probably go down the drain if our specialist continue to bowl the way they have been doing so far. Even at the slow surface at Delhi, they didn't impress The way forward for the games against SA and WI: 1. Zak ----> dependable and wkt taker 2. Munna ----> supports well and has had a good game or two 3. Sree / Nehra ----> wkt taker vs decent death bowler. depends upon form 4. Aswhin ----> try him out 5. Yuvi ----> bowling better than Bhajji and Chawla 6. Pathan ----> can throw darts as well and may be a few more wkt taking balls than our main dart-thrower We need 6 bowlers to bowl 50 overs: 3 pacers + 3 spinners (including the 2 good part-timers)

Jadeja was a lousy bat and should never have been selected as an all-rounder batting at no. 7 spot. But he was much better than Chawla as a bowler. I can assure you that Ireland and Netherlands wouldn't have carted him all over the park so easily.
