jpkonline Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 now that yuvi has performed so well in wc should we bring him back at no 6 instead of raina ? or should we stick with pujara and kohli
vvvslaxman Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 I don't think we shouldn't repeat the mistake again and again and again.. One dayers / Tests different skills , different temperament.
Baad Indian Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 The guy has done remarkably well in this world cup but lets not expect him to do wonders in the test team especially when we have important away tours coming up - Eng & Australia . The Yuvraj's and Raina's can give exceptional performances in a patch but they are no Test Material like Sachin or Dravid . Giving chance to someone with a proper technique of Test Player is what needs to be done - Pujara or Badrinath for me . No Yuvraj and Kohli should wait
jpkonline Posted April 3, 2011 Author Posted April 3, 2011 I don't think we shouldn't repeat the mistake again and again and again.. One dayers / Tests different skills ' date=' different temperament.[/quote'] he never got any chance to bowl last time but he has improved his bowling a good deal why don't we give him a chance more as a bowler than as a batman ?
Anakin Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 But he's too much of a talent to be wasted. I say let him play test matches again and see. I'm sure he'll do very well this time around.
vvvslaxman Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 he never got any chance to bowl last time but he has improved his bowling a good deal why don't we give him a chance more as a bowler than as a batman ? We could end up screwing his ODI career as well. He had amazing world cup. Dream world cup. But it means nothing when it comes to Tests. But you never know with Dhoni. His added bowling skills might change selectors minds. But he is far from being a finished product in Tests. He has some weaknesses to deal with. Biggest of all is defense.
Cricket Tragic Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 No, but there are reports that he will be back in the team.
Lord Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 should look to future.otherwise big trouble wen Sach,Dravid,VVS go
kooljatt Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 we can look into this matter after 2-3 months,,, lets celebrate @ the moment :icflove: p.s.
Clarke Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Lets not get too emotional here. There's no good reason to drop Pujara & Yuvi does not belong to #3.
Karan114 Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Yuvraj has cemented himself as an ODI great and we all know what he did in the World Twenty20. Let him flourish in those formats. Test cricket is a different game and 34 Tests is more than enough opportunity for one to prove himself.
Lord Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 as muh as I feel his pain(mentioned in his interview today too).I wouldnt get him back.invest in youth.we have seniors to guide them.Pujara should get more opportunities.if he doesnt do well.then Kohli
Kumar Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 I wouldn't just yet anyway! Its too soon to call, prior to this world cup he did have some what of a patch of bad form, even though he got man of the series, but the man hasnt proved himself in the test arena away from the sub continent, so why would we now? just because he had an excellent world cup campaign??? does this mean that the likes of pujara who has shown promise in tests, should be axed for the fan favourite yuvraj??? I dont think so! and since we are in Aus/Eng I really doubt it more to the point the question should be, should we have munaf patel in tests????????
King Tendulkar Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Kohli is first in line, then Pujara then Yuvi then a massive gap to Raina imo It has to be said though, that over last year and more yuvi has had loads of injuries that have stopped him training properly. But now injuries have gone, so has weight and fitness is right back to 8 years ago. It is a gamble but if he remains fit then he may well be worth a punt in tests!
ravishingravi Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Without even a shadow of doubt. Sometimes, there comes a turning point in guy's career. Man of the series for WC is most prestigious honour. It has taken him to another level and we have to get him to play tests now when he is confident. We are going to be losing our greats in a year or so.
Cricketics Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Kohli is the first one to get the opportunity, or should be be the first one. Another failure from Pujara here, and he should be replaced by Kohli and not anyone else
saneindian Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Upto Yuvi really. Continue the good form in IPL and then in the WI ODIs. Force the selectors to pick him for the test team for WI. Will not be a bad choice on the slow wickets of WI.
