ThePhenomenal1 Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 this is not the same guy who scored a hundred in nz, almost two hundreds! his confidence is low, not a matter of technique. when he's in form, he has a nice lengthy run. we should be patient and not forget what he's done recently. still, id play rahane against australia and give dhawan a short break to recoup.

As much as it needs some good skill sto hit all the time, this is the worst format to put a player's career stats in front. Let's just not compare Dhawan the twenty20 player he has been so far here in this tournament, to Dhawan the test/ODI bat. He is far better.

Looked more comfortable opening with Rahane in the asia cup v Afghanistan

That's how you bat with the left and right hand combination at your advantage.

That's how you bat with the left and right hand combination at your advantage. yup. I still think the best solution for India is to axe Yuvi and open with Rahane and Shikar with Rohit at 4. But looks like we might be stuck with two non performing entities, Yuvi and Shikar. Its affecting the Indian fielding as well. Yuvi has dropped a few catches and Shikar missed one of the easiest runouts I have seen.

This has served us well in the last 2 matches but Shikhar I think is just trying to hit the ball out of park every time he gets 1 or 2 balls to play. He has been terrible & this may not be an excuse but it affects him IMO.

So he has taken a few balls to settle down. @ethos I feel Kohli will take us through.
