Its not just that he couldnt score runs but he never looked confident against WI pacers who are not even close to being good. I cant imagine him doing well against SA, England or Australia. I expected lot more from him though. :((

Robin Smith was like deer caught in headlights against Kumble. Infact most of the English men were. But expressions of Robin smith was so helpless. Hick stood out.

The Outsider Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Hick was a much better batsman than Badrinath - he happened to play in a time of some very good bowlers with the likes of Ambrose, Walsh, Akram, Waqar really exposing his weaknesses. If he was playing against today's bowling attacks and the flatter pitches he would have had a successful test career like Trott. He could have played more ODIs as he was genuinely good in the format, but the English selectors were brain dead in the 90s.
