mishra Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Tendulkar is a one off like Warne and I agree his records will stand for a long time. 500 wickets in the modern game will be passed imho Punter will only retire if his average starts to drop rapidly No you cant compare Tendulkar to Warne. Murali beat warne
ganeshran Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Tendulkar is a one off like Warne and I agree his records will stand for a long time. 500 wickets in the modern game will be passed imho Punter will only retire if his average starts to drop rapidly Warne actually doesnt have any major aggregate records. Even his averages are poorer than Pollock. However, agree with the general sentiment of your post. Warne's magic transcends records - its obvious when we see him bowl and difficult to explain in terms of statistics alone.
Trichromatic Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 1. Cook will come close within 2K of Tendulkars Test Runs aggregate but will not be able to overhaul it. Looks possible 2. Tendulkar will play 2015 WC Very difficult 3. No Bowler(Steyn might come close but even he will find it difficult ) from the current crop will cross 500 Test wkts ( Harbi the only possible contender ) The rate at which Steyn is taking wickets should take him above 400 easily. 400-500 would be difficult. 4. KP will not play in the 2015 WC His ODI career is in mess atm. 5. Punter to retire in the next 18 months It seems so. 6. No Paki Batsman will avg over 45 in Tests. Some batsman might do that. And ofcourse the Super long range Prediction : No one will ever get to within 80% of Tendulkar's Intl Runs tally or his Intl Hundreds.
mrinalmech Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Cook won't be able to break Tendu's record. He's going through a purple patch right now. 5-6 years ago we thought Punter would overtake SRT's 100s. Look what happened.
mishra Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Lala will outscore Miandad and Malik and may be Anwar in odis
mishra Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Kohli will be second highest century maker for India... I thought i predicted it somewhere earlier..... But reinstating it again
Sachin=GOD Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Kohli will score a ODI 200 in the next 12 months.
Vijy Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Kohli is iin excellent form, but it remains to be seen if he can sustain it. The future of ODIs, Tests and T20s is all very uncertain too, i.e we don't know how many of each will be played in the future.
Number Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Suresh Raina will overcome his short-ball problem. :--D
akshayxyz Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 No' date=' they don't. I'd rather be Brian Lara or Kallis (never won a WC) rather than Moody or Lehmann.[/quote'] this.
akshayxyz Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 No one offers you anything in life brother ' date= u gotta go take it... Sachin made all his records in trying to achieve team goals for India. The records he has is testimoney to his collossal performance. Sachin cannot bowl for India, Sachin cannot bat for the other batsmen. He cannot field for the other 10 players. he is only one man and he has tried his best to garner wins for the team. Brilliant. Couldn't have summed it up better than this.
putrevus Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Youngsters like Kohli will show Indians winning is more important than accumulating stats. Future Indian teams will care more about team's cause rather than running after silly meaningless personal milestones.
Vijy Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Predictions: "The Mighty Beard" to finish with the greatest ever beard in history and perhaps the highest ODI batting average of all-time too.
akshayxyz Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Youngsters like Kohli will show Indians winning is more important than accumulating stats. Future Indian teams will care more about team's cause rather than running after silly meaningless personal milestones. Elaborate :hmmm:

Utalk Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Umar Akmal won't average 40 or more in test cricket. Afridi will average 40+ with the ball against top7 when he retires. No Indian bowler will average under 25 with the ball in any format and take 100+ wickets. Aus will be the best ranked test team in 18 months from now.
the_indian_fan Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 1. virat kohli will break tendulkars odi aggregate & 100s record. he is only 23 and will play for another 15 years (meaning about 17000-18000 more runs and 55-60 more 100s) :D 2. zaheer khan will play in the 2015 wc 3. india will find a genuine 150 kph+ bowler by 2013 4. india to break the 500 mark in odis within the next 2 years :two_thumbs_up:
