Just caught the highlights of today's play; OMG, what a spell by Ishant! That was one incredible display of relentless, hostile bowling. Well bowled my boy! I just hope such an outstanding display of bowling is rewarded with a win. The funny part is, right from the moment the series started, there has been a clamoring among the West Indians for 'fast and bouncy pitches that would unsettle the Indians..' Today, it was so sweetly ironical to see them all meek and muted as Ishant made the Windies batsmen sizzle like a water-droplet on a super-hot non-stick pan. I wonder what the likes of Ian Bishop and Deff Dujon have to say now. But more importantly, this spell by Ishant is more important in the context of sending a strong message to the England camp ahead of the most anticipated series of the year. The consummate professional that is known to be, you can bet any amounts of money that Andy Flower will have his assistants watching every over, every ball of the India-West Indies series, taking notes in a frenzy, eager to spot weaknesses that could be potentially exploited. Today's spell by Ishant would have sent them a strong message that they can just produce fast, bouncy green-top and hope to get away with it. With Ishant arguably bowling the best he has ever had and the fantastic Zak back in the team for the summer, lets see if the Poms have the courage to produce fast-bowler friendly wickets.

thanks to steyn and eric simmons ,lad is reborn. there are drawbacks of IPL but what happened to rohit after playing under sachin and how ishant has rediscovered his strength after sharing the new ball with steyn are two big positives of IPL this year for India.

Ishant will be quick for a few more years. He is only 22. Hopefully he will emerge as one of the premium fast bowlers in the world everyone thought he would be after his performance in Australia.

Its already a decent attack with Zak back and Ishant bowling like this. If Sree gets his act together, this attack will be top class.

I had no idea that he was close to 100 wickets and no idea he played 30 odd test matches LOL, so he has remained injury free and hope remains injury free unlike Sreesanth. The lad always had talent, when you have fast bowler 6-5 tall its never easy to bat against him, thats why Curtly and courtney were big deals, the height makes sure batsman are never comfortable coming to front foot. Ishant should concentrate on Tests and consistency. the lad has in him to get as close as possible to Kapil paaji's tally.

To be fair, none of the West Indian commentators have denied the superiority of the Indian side. They've just said that West Indies' best chance is on fast and bouncy tracks - something I agree with given the inexperience in our batting.

But it really smacks of duplicity when you pan one set of batsmen (Our guys) when they struggle against short-pitched bowling, while treating the other set batsmen (Windies) with kid gloves.

I would take exception to calling them biased in their criticism - in fact if you compare it to the commentators on the South African tour one would think they are biased towards India, such was the level of drivel Haysman, Wessels etc. dished out.

In fact, reg. the same Barath dismissal in the 2nd innings you mentioned, the funny thing is, after dismissal happened and the broadcaster cut away to commercial, there was a 3,4 second interval when the commentators could be heard talking amongst themselves and you can actually hear Jeff Dujon laying into Barath in the background. :cantstop: My point is very specific to their criticism of our batsmen in reg. to short-pitched bowling. Again, no opportunity is too small for someone like Ian Bishop to point out our apparent weakness against short-pitched bowling. But when the tables are turned, the criticism is far more generic and gentle.
