I am not surprised at your ignorant reply. Where did I say that going silent is the only way to express how much the crowd respects/fears a certain opponent. I will keep it short - going by the opposition team/crowd's reaction - even though Sehwag is perceived more intimidating, SRTs wicket is still more prized. Also there are many incidents of the dominant Aussie teams' & crowds' response to SRT taking the crease/getting out.

Appears as if you have no clue to the reaction that Warney managed to get in SA .... Swagger/confidence is a good thing. It can coexist with classy batsmen or bowlers, it doenst have to be one or the other. It's only bad when you show it without any substance to back it up. Like Munaf staring down batsmen after he bowls one of his gentle medium pacers.

Anyway, my point was - First of all this crowd response etal is highly subjective parameter and was quite tangential to the OP. You could have talked about Warne's gesture/gait, it would still have been aligned with topic of swagger or lack of it.

You want people whose mere sight gets their team an advantage. Sreesanth, Ishant, Jadeja (everyone loves to hate him). All these kinda people make a balanced team.

The only problem is SRT has proven to fit all the above type shoes. That is why whenever there is a debate or appreciation of some certain skill, SRT is default contender. That what separates him from the crowd and that is what makes sites like ICF such a minefield of debates. So called fanatics, antifan-atics were not known to exist before SRT :winky:.

Nobody can question the batting ability of Maestro but my personal take is if its a patta wicket absolutely flat track then I would prefer Sehwag over Sachin, may be the sheer dominance of him would be the only reason to watch the inning. I really want Sachin to play against the so called greats I think thats the best contest like if bowler is Dale Steyn, Murli, Warne, Akram, Mcgrath etc. And if the pitch is minefield and India needs someone to save us it would be only one and one Rahul Dravid.
