I hope he score lots of runs and comeback because he really has it in him to play at big stage like how Ramesh also could. Hopefully for India's good, Sehwag will return and so would Gambhir and we will have our first choice openers. Mukund, I am glad does have age on his side and would eventually make the cut whenever someone wants to rest.

Yes, to me he looks much better than the IPL star Vijay. He played a foolish shot to get out today, but that can be excused for inexperience. I think he himself realized that after playing that shot. It happens to everyone, even Dravid gets out poking out side, so not a big deal, hope he plays well in the second dig.

ShebbySB Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 Dinesh Karthik & Rahane is technically better than Mukund.As a newby Mukund is okay.But in english conditions wher ball moves late he needs to play the ball as late as possible but he is pushing at the ball that is bringing his downfall.If he gets experienced with some India-A tours in stough conditions then he'll mature as a batsman & will be an asset to our team.

Unlike some other openers who started their careers in India before touring abroad, he has made his debut and played so far on some of the most difficult batting pitches. yet he has shown in patches the abundance of talent he has, yes there are technical glitches in his batting but with some work in the nets he can easily sort them out and become a better batsman.
