We are not number one

just the least crappiest of the number twos :hehe:
I would say that while we are #1 our reign will be fairly short lived. Its hard to reach the top - GK and MSD deserve some credit there, as do the Aussies - but its harder to stay at the top. SA or ENG will overtake us within the next 12 months. We are just too defensive and lack the drive or intensity to go for the kill.

Like it or not, we're no.1 Surely not like the dominating WI or Aussies, but we're the best of the current lot. Today's match could've been won easily but there was no intent. I wont be too critical though, teams have bad day, at least they won the series? So lets celebrate the 3rd ever series win in WI. :two_thumbs_up:

Who takes over in the rankings doesn't matter. When India was in a good situation, it shouldn't have gone defensive. They should have played for win even if India were no 4 or no 5.

FFS , when were no 6 in 2003 and Aussies were without Mcgrath and Warne, they nearly lost a series to us!! So stop this comparison with what the Aussies would have done.

They made it a bad day themselves.

Comparison is not about how they performed but the lack of intent.

+1 It is about intent..Now dhoni says there is nothing for the bowler and flat track bla bla...At least show some intent to move towards the target, send in a pinch hitter...15 overs 80 runs , anything would have been possible..

The team showed it's intent in the last test through a sporting declaration. Stop being a wrist slitter man.

Stop being a loser man. This game was there to be won. The finish line was in sight. We decided to walk the other way.

Missing 5 key players from the team (say Hayden, Langer, Mcgrath, Warne and Clarke/Hussey) do you think the Aussies or any other great side of the previous era would have shown the same "intent"? You are winning the series, you showed an intent in the last test, team and captain may relax/be complacent in the last day/session of a test series.

Stop whining dude. Granted the effort from the batting unit wasn't how it should be, but the wrist slitting going in simply amazing!!
