Vijay.Sharma Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 Rockers of ICF what say u...dem Brits have had more path setting, ground breaking, legendary bands than dem Mutineers? On the side of the Brits we have: Pink Floyd (nuff said all arguments must end here but let's humor the Amreeki mutineers), Led Zepp, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, The Who, Rolling Stones, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath On the other side of the pond from America we have: Doors, Metallica, Megadeth, Van Halen, Nirvana, GnR and assorted many glam rock bands including Bon Jovi, White Lion, Saigon Kick, Damn Yankees, etc A small mention for the cons from Down Under: AC DC, INXS, Midnight Oil Somehow when it comes to rock music I find the Brits have a class in them.
punjabi_khota Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 In before sree_ozrael and his claim that none of the above qualifies as rock.
EnterTheVoid Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 Bloody well done, the kind of thread I like. British are the absolute baap of rock music and how, with these artists: 1. Black Sabbath 2. Pink Floyd 3. Judas Priest 4. Led Zepplin 5. The Beatles 6. Iron Maiden etc The list keeps going on. If you look at the mainstream American rock bands like Metallica, Guns and Roses and everyone else, you are guaranteed to find one of the above fore mentioned bands in their "music inspired from" list. Btw, I saw Guns and Roses LIVE and took these videos: Guns And Roses [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvyscw0QLWA]Guns and Roses (Australia) LIVE ; Sweet Child Of Mine - YouTube[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yfw7Q9M3DcA]Guns And Roses LIVE (Australia) ; Live and Let Die - YouTube[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjyuW8yfX8g]Guns and Roses LIVE (Australia) ; Welcome To The Jungle - YouTube[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=089J17Uhdkw]Guns and Roses LIVE (Australia) ; Chinese Democracy - YouTube[/ame] Lamb Of God opening for Metallica \m/ [ame= - YouTube[/ame]
Vijay.Sharma Posted July 14, 2011 Author Posted July 14, 2011 Sree, did you hear GnR's new album? Chinese Democracy. I am telling ya, Axl's voice is amazingly smooth in this album...damn neat. But their sound has changed to lot more 'wah' than with Slash...the new lead chap is also pretty good - dunno his name though Edit - I see one of the songs is the title song of the Chinese Democracy album...was it their album tour you went for?
EnterTheVoid Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 Btw, this is a thread you might want to have a browse over: http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showthread.php?t=206029&page=3 I would LOVE to go see some more artists but unfortunately, I will be out of the country. Nabbed this shirt at the Guns and Roses concert, they still got it baby !!!
EnterTheVoid Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 Hear? Mate, that tour was to promote their 'Chinese Democracy' album! I kid you not, have a look at the back of this shirt
flamy Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 Dunno abt this mainstream homogiri. But, Shoegazer comes from Britain, so Long Live the Queen!
coffee_rules Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 Brits win it hands down. To all pretenders: It was all started by Led Zep. The baap of all rockers.

EnterTheVoid Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 Black Sabbath for me. Just love their grungy dark sound more than Zepplin although 'Stairway To Heaven' is one of the most monumental rock songs in history.

Yep, agree. Pink Floyd! Nuff said! They are a fu I actually saw a Pink Floyd cover band and I can tell you, these blokes are the absolute best in the business when it comes to using visual aids to support their brand of mellow/psychedelic rock.
Prakat Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 As I'v grown older my tastes has widened and mellowed down. Nowadays, I enjoy metal and hard rock for the nostalgia like I do R.D./S.D/Rafi/Dey/Lata/Asha songs.
