Simple. Smaller states are easier to manage and administer. India should ideally have 50 or more states.
true Most new states are doing well after the division.I oppose division if it is for some stupid reason like language or culture but if the region is not doing well because the state is too big to be administered properly ,then it makes good sense to divide. Look at Uttarakhand after div...better roads ,better administration...and eff off Mayawati and Mulayam:finger:..we don't have to suffer you.

care to explain how Telangana is different from Andhra,We speak the same language, enjoy the same movies,Have the same heroes(no talking about movie actors) we look upto,Celebrate the same festivals... If you say dialect then even East and West Godavari have different dialects People who say Telangana is different from Andhra are no different than followers of morons like zaid Hamid who live in their own little revisionist history and delsuions of grandeur.
Why should I care to explain something which I did not even claim?

This is seriously getting out of hand. Are we going to grant every man who "thinks" he has been cheated a state of his own? Jesus Christ. This is a country of Chrissake. I feel sorry for people (if there are any) supporting him, coz this seems to be nothing else but a publicity stunt. And incase it is not, can anyone tell me which state benefited when MP and Chattisgarh split up, when Bihar and Jharkhand became different states? In these cases, you win some, you lose a lot.

If you think, KCR is the one who started all this, then you couldn't be more wrong than this. This agitation was going on for decades, only it intensified now. There were many who were against the formation of present day AP too.

Maharashtra wants to be 2 states (Maharashtra and Marathwada), but that doesn't mean we let it happen. We resolve the matter without crippling public life. Maybe its gone on for decades, but can you seriously approve of "peaceful protests" that go on for 20 days?

That is true but the formation of A.P was based on Linguistic lines and after the Hyd State was dissolved the districts were distributed among Karnataka,Maharashtra and AP based on the same principle. But it is surprising as to why there isn't a Telangana movement in Maharashtra and Karnataka

It all boils down to Hyderabad. If Hyderabad was not part of Telangana' date=' the androids would have dropped Telangana like a hot potato. :P[/quote'] Pretty much. From reading from various sources, I think they come to hyderabad to do business and take all their earnings back to 'andhra' instead of pumping it back into telegana. This is one of the major reasons for separation from the telangana group.

People seem to have the misconception that the creation of a new state means some form of breaking up of the nation. It is not like that at all....far from it, a separate state allows better resource mobility to those areas. AP is a huge state made up of three regions: Telangana, Andhra i.e. Coastal Andhra, and Rayalseema out of which quite a large part of Rayalseema was under the Madras State before the formation of states based on language. Quite logically, AP is a mix of 3 states. It makes all the sense for it to be split into at least 2 states if not three. People need to get rid of this belief that the formation of a new state is somehow equivalent to breaking up the country. I want the naysayers to give me one logical argument for why a state must not be split. Similarly, I feel Maharashtra also must be broken up into at least 2 parts: current western Maha and Vidharbha. Vidharbha is a grossly neglected area and is the epicenter of farmer suicides. Creation of a new Vidarbha state will move funds to Vidarbha without having to fight for it with madhya-Maha and Konkan-Maha. Karnataka also will face such a situation in the coming years because Uttara Kannada is totally neglected. Bijapur, Berar, Bidar, Dharwad are all neglected areas inside Karnataka. It is better for them to exist as a separate entity so their resources are not hijacked by Blore, Mysore, Mandya, etc.

Creation of more states means: 1. Increasing number of corrupt entities 2. Giving the center a chance to appoint more unqualified governors 3. Emergence of more regional parties 4. More coordination between center and states which even now isn't as efficient as it needs to be especially if the parties at center and state are different 5. Increased hostility between smaller states when it comes to sharing of natural resources like water

five-decade struggle of people of our region for separate state. All the students, people who dedicated for this lets see if they have to wait again. For people wondering reasons for separate there many development, water resources although we water flows from telangana to Andhra no good dams in over region farmers cant do more than two crops I have seen this a lot. 90% jobs in the state secretariat held by Andhra people, land grabs by people from Andhra in Hyderabad, Job opportunities for educated youth in the region, less recognition for poets from telanagana and mocked by people for their language to name a few.

This is a gross tactic by congress hoping to get votes from telengana. I don't think they will do it quickly. Even the andra leaders will try to do politics as much they can to get another term. Politics aside, I believe Telengana should be saperated from Andra. The people have been supressed socially and politically. There has been a lot of bias. Having friends from both the regions, saperation will help both regions. If they could saperate a medium sized state like bihar, why not Andra?
