Old guy Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Everyone forgot how he got spanked in Australia CB serires and in ODI series here? again bowled with older ball on pattas with no control what did ya expect ? :cantstop:
vayuu1 Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 He has got pace, swing stamina , he will do good in tests , Aaron I think will be good in loi.
MCcricket Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Umesh actually I was impressed with today as he got good swing, can easily bowl 140 to 150 k, and just needs to mature a bit in ODI'S, WILL BE A THREAT TO ANY TEAM IN TESTS, his seam is upright, he needs to mix his deliveries and bowl at his natural length, he tried to bowl to full and swing it today, with his pace a bit short of good length and a occasional fuller ball mixed with a short one to the body or moving away would be ideal combo.
Needforspeed Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 We seem to have a tradition of producing either trundlers or brainless bowlers. The ones with pace are brainless and the ones with brains are paceless.
Vilander Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 got upto 90 miles in SL. : ) faster than paki trundlers.. yessss :yess:
Vilander Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 146.5 ks in last ODI vs SL was his fastest. :yess:
Ultimate_Game Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 We seem to have a tradition of producing either trundlers or brainless bowlers. The ones with pace are brainless and the ones with brains are paceless. That's the life of an Indian cricket fan got upto 90 miles in SL. : ) faster than paki trundlers.. yessss :yess: What's the point when speed is of no use? What next we will compare Yadav with likes of Sami on who's faster? I would rather have a slightly slower Umesh as long as he can bowl with control like Zak used to do over the last 4-5 years.
vishalvirsingh Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Umesh will get better control very soon- but if he looses his pace he won't get it back.....control comes with experience, Have patience guys.
Trichromatic Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 "I was basically a sprinter and used to run 100m, 200m and 400m races. I represented my college in these events. I don't remember my timing exactly, but those were between 10 and 11 seconds. I also follow football (sic)." Wrong choice of sports?
vishalvirsingh Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 I strongly believe in Quality and for me Umesh is a better bet than atleast balaji......dinda has pace n control both so I may think dinda is the right choice but balaji shud not have been selected- umesh is better
Old guy Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Wrong choice of sports? :omg: he must be mistaken cos that is too quick to ignore! :yikes: anyway he is super fit wont be surprised if he is pretty good runner also muscles involved in sprinting and fast bowling are of similar type right? (ofc diff areas )

CG Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 in t20 he can lose match on his own :cantstop: but our other bowlers do so already:haha:
Old guy Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 but our other bowlers do so already:haha: lol well then they get kicked out.. too bad for umesh he got kicked out during world cup anyway i hope he concentrates on tests i dont care abt odis we will find decent bowlers like always even irfan pathan is good enough but we badly need a test bowler and he is the only one i can see who can get wickets
maniac Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 People talk about Spin but teams like Aus,SA and WI have that xfactor when it comes to pace bowling which makes them that extra bit favs IMHO In a superover kind of a situation or even in Slog overs defending a total which is always a possibility in T20 guys like Ajmal,Ashwin,Narine,Vettori etc will be useless
