jj_28 Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 He will be fit by September which means he will be in contention for 20/20 WC which might be a good comeback for Ishant. He needs to get fit for the Test series against England in November that should be his aim but great to have him back

jj_28 Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 not the same level of quality when it comes to the batsmen but point taken
Needforspeed Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Ishant's target should be England series..Hope he plays a few Ranji matches to asess his fitness. And now that the surgery is done, also hope he has better control over line and length. Yuvi in NCA? Thats really good news.
saneindian Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Get back to the field soon Ishant. The better news is about Yuvi training at NCA. Looks like he wants to have another go at the poms in India and give them some more pain. Hope he is at least able to play a couple of ODIs vs them in the new year. Enough time for him to get back in shape and grab his national spot again. But first priority has to be his health. Should not overstretch himself even if it means being away from cricket a little longer.
Sehwag1830 Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Another day , another Indian player interview. You would have thought we are no.1 ranking in test.
kubrickian Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Unlucky, phasst boller coming back to become even more unlucky. :yay:

Vilander Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 This is the first time i am hearing some one refer to themselves as class by saying " form is temporary class is permanent". Truly pathetic attitude or downright poor english.
JourneyMan Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 This is the first time i am hearing some one refer to themselves as class by saying " form is temporary class is permanent". Truly pathetic attitude or downright poor english. :hysterical: I noticed that as well. I'm assuming he doesn't know in which context the expression is supposed to be applied.
Needforspeed Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 This is the first time i am hearing some one refer to themselves as class by saying " form is temporary class is permanent". Truly pathetic attitude or downright poor english. No Ishant is not an arrogant guy...his English is somewhat like his bowling. He probably thought it was a cool thing to say.:cantstop:
MCcricket Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 No Ishant is not an arrogant guy...his English is somewhat like his bowling. He probably thought it was a cool thing to say.:cantstop: +1, so many arm chair pundits here, lol, very easy to talk cheap.
Cricket Tragic Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 What went wrong in England? Form is temporary, class is permanent.
jj_28 Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 Need more time to be match fit: Ishant Sharma Recuperating after undergoing an ankle injury, pacer Ishant Sharma has ruled himself out of India's ODI tour of Sri Lanka next month. The 23-year-old speedster said that although he has resumed bowling and light training, it would be extremely difficult for him to attain match fitness before the scheduled Sri Lanka tour, which starts on July 22. "I'm feeling strong and good again and even started to bowl four-over spells. However, it will be difficult to get fully fit in time for next month's tour to Sri Lanka," said Ishant. "Intensity of bowling and fitness has to increase gradually and I would also need some match practice to check myself. I think I will take two or three months more to regain match fitness," he added after returning from his stint at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. Ishant had been suffering from pain in his right ankle, a result of extra growth in the bone and got the surgery done in London in the last week of March and had to miss this year's Indian Premier League. "I had to look at the long term rather than short and I knew surgery was the best option if I had to play for a long time. The key was to be fit in time for the new season and my rehab is progressing well. I am going back to NCA next week," Ishant told 'Aaj Tak'. The lanky pacer, who was the toast of the nation exactly a year ago with a record haul of 23 wickets from three Tests in West Indies, was completely out of form during the England and Australia tours last year when Indian lost eight consecutive Tests. Ishant has his sight firmly set on the Test series against the same nations when they tour India later this year and early 2013. Is he looking to be fit for Ind vs NZ Test series starting at August 23 We will most likely play only 2 pacers (plus 2 spinners) and Umesh will definitely be in the team so either Zaheer or Ishant will get the other spot (finally some kind of competition) and if Aaron does well against Sri Lanka then he could be in frame for a spot in the team as well
vvvslaxman Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 It is not enough if you are committed to play for India.. you have to be committed to show progress. Age is on his side. After successful Bangladesh tour The worst is behind me - Ishant Sharma After Successful Windies tour 'I was trying to copy Zaheer's action' What followed was series of failures. He implies he is really hoping for steady progress. Every time he says that he comes back to square one.
saneindian Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 Should be targeting the India A tour of NZ in September followed by playing the domestic season.
cowboysfan Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 The title of this thread makes me sad,i cannot believe bcci is still listening to players when it comes to injuries.
