Nah its just u being ignorant.Jadeja has half the bowl ave. of Yuvi and taken double the wickets of Yuivi in Ranji trophy and he is only 23.jadeja was also the leading wkt taker in Ranji trophy 2 years ago and was again one of the leading wkt takers in Ranji last year. Only an ignorant who doesnt follow Ranji can say Yuvraj is a better bowler than Jadeja.
Joginder Sharma has a FC bowling average of 20.

Johinder Sharma doesnt bowl in roads like Rajkot.JS bowls in in swinging pitches which suits his bowling most of the time. Saurashtra played all six matches at Rajkot last year in which 5 of them were high boring draws.Yet Jadeja was their leading wicket taker and of the leading wkt takers in Ranji last year.

Lets look long term and keep Umesh/Aaron in the 11 alongside Ishant. These matches played in this series would be crucial to get Umesh/Aaron ready for Australia. Also, now that we are 1-0 ahead, irrespective of the 11 we have, we will win. so why not give more experience to the young pacers?

they played 7 matches out of which 5 were at Rajkot. Jadeja took about 20 wickets (highest wicket taker was Bhargav Bhatt with 47 wkts). Jaddu's wickets didnt come in high scoring draws. He got 8 in a low scoring match against Assam. Another 8 came against Gujrat in a match where 200 was crossed only once. The remaining 4 came in a high scorign match where he picked up 4 wickets for 189 runs.

He didnt play against Railways Bengal or Delhi. He was excellent against Gujarat and Assam. The only match he fared poorly was against TN in which we just lost 5 wkts over 2 innings. And the ended in boring draw. And that 4 wicket haul came against the best batting line up in the country.Funny u forgot to mention it. He played just 4 matches yet picked 20 wkts despite playing 2 of these matches in roads. The fact that he was their leading wkt taker despite missing 3 matches shows how poor Saurashtra bowling is and how much work load he has to share let alone the fact that he is their leading bowling despite being just 23. Either way Johinder sharma is a far better test bowler than Yuvraj too.So not sure what ur point is. Care to point out a single reason how Yuvi is a better test bowler than Jadeja?

And yeah... 3 spinners is not an option as its highly unlikely for anyone to be able to judge how much the wicket will wear and tear on day 3, day 4 and day 5 from the beginning thereby depleting their seamer strength on anticipation of a turner

The 4wicket haul came for 189 runs where he bowled excess of 50 overs at an economy of 3.37. I wouldnt read too much into it. He picked up 8 of those 20 wickets against a poor Assam side in a low scoring game.

We are not going to play Jaddu as a specialist spinner with a bit of batting skills. If we are going to pick based on Ranji records, we might as well pick Iqbal Abdullah who scored 380+ runs @47 and picked 27 wickets @22. Or Yusuf Pathan who scored 375 runs @53 and picked 24 wickets at an average of 17. Jaddu's FC stats are nowhere as impressive as you are making it out to be. Yuvi who himself is not a test quality player, is eons ahead of Jaddu if competing for the all rounder spot. I dont consider him to be suitable for the number 6 spot which should ideally go to Pujara or Rohit Sharma. But if it was a toss up between Yuvi and Jaddu, Jaddu isnt even in the competition - both in Tests and ODIs

On a flat wicket against the best batting lineup in the country how better are u expecting a spinner to bowl? Why wouldnt u read much into this or Assam match? Did anyone also dont read into the free centuries scored Pujara or Rohit against these teams when matches ends in meaningless draws? Heck half the runs Rohit scored in his career are on flat wkts against poor attack after the likes of jaffer and Rahane had demoralised bowling attacks.Yet no one forgets to count these runs when projecting his ave do they?

We need 2 seamers as a wearing and rugged pitch will often provide some reverse swing in the latter part of the innings. Our young seamers need to develop the experience and ability to use reverse swing or else they won't develop into complete test match quicks. Our 2 new spinners are good enough to bowl around 25-30 overs each per day so we don't really require a third spinner as he will surely be under-bowled.

Because selectors dont solely go by averages - otherwise you would pick players with computer programs and Badri would be in the test side. Pujara and RG Sharma are the brightest test prospects in the country - you dont need to use statsguru to tell you that. That is evident when you see them play.
Abdulla averages less than 35 actually 12 runs less than Jadeja who averages 47.And he comes in at mostly 7 or 8 for Mumbai (unless i am mistaken ) whereas Jadeja is a main batsman for Saurastra. He has scored double and triple centuries in Ranji trophies and knows how to build an innings.Does Abdulla know? How many times he has played as a top order batsmen in his career. And i have never said Jadeja should be no.6 for India.I said he should come in at no.7 with Dhoni at no.6.Yes this will be weaker than having Pujara at 6 but will help us win more matches since we will bowl with 5 bowlers. Jadeja also score 150 plus in duleep trophy. He is a genuie batsmen in Ranji trophy unlike Adbulla. Care to explain how a guy who harldy bowls in his test / ranji career and has ave. double of Jadeja and half the wkts of jadeja is a better all rounder than Jadeja? Just give a single reason why he is good test match bowler? If so why didnt Dhoni didnt use him in this test match then?
Your squad selection is weird to say the least. Dhoni as number 6 would be a disaster give his batting technique in tests is not great. A solid number 6 is imperative in Test cricket and Dhoni is not upto the mark to it. Yuvraj's primary skill is batting while Jadeja's primary skill is bowling. Yuvraj's batting is far better than Jaddu's and bowling wise- both will fare exactly the same way in International cricket - bowlers to get the overs through without picking up wickets. On overseas pitches both are equally useless (batting and bowling wise) Our test line up should have 6 batsmen + Dhoni + 4 specialist bowlers, this should be the case till we get a genuine all rounder - the kind of Watson or Kallis.

I am not here about selectors. They choose Raina for test cricket based on ODI form rather than Rohit or Pujara based Ranji form. I am about u mentioning Jadeja's wickets against Assam if thats the case Rohit's easy runs are pointless too.

Dhoni has the perfect technique to play in Indian conditions. What defect he has in his technique he has to play in our flat roads seriously ? Dhoni already ave 47 in indian conditions. So why cant he bat at no.6?

So a guy who was Ranji trophy leading wicket tacker 2 years ago at the age of 21 and ave less than 30 with ball in Ranji trophy over his career cant take wkts in tests.U base this exactly on what ? And Jadeja dont get wickets in ODIS? He takes nearly 3 wkts every 2 ODI he played in India. He is a wicket taking bowler in ODIs too in indian conditions.

Our 6+4 line up failed to pick 20 wkts even against New zea land at home regularly. So whats the point of just having them for the sake of it and just drawing tests against even weak opposition? Jadeja and Dhoni are genuine all rounders in Indian conditions.

Batting first on a pitch that should deteriorate soon might be the only reason to play 3 spinners. What's this talk of Jadeja in the test squad ? The selectors made a mistake by selecting Yuvraj in the test squad so lets make it worse by replacing him with a bits & pieces cricketer ? How would you look at it in the long term, is Jadeja our all rounder to play in Australia for instance ? If not, why bother with his selection in tests ?

You totally missed the point. Rohit's easy runs are not the sole criteria for his selection. Many more players have scored doubles on roads in the Ranji. Its his technique that makes him a candidate for his selection and you cant see that unless you see him play, not judge solely on the basis of statistics.

You mix up ODIs and Tests potential. Dhoni's ODI batting doesnt make him a reliable test bat. He is there for his wicketkeeping and captaincy. Jaddu's ODI wickets dont mean he will take wickets in tests. Both are different format and require different skills. And we dont pick different sides for home and overseas performances. The same side has to play in all the conditions and that is what players like Pujara and Rohit bring to the table.

Dhoni averages nearly 48 in test cricket in indian conditions. And thats what i referred too.So how am i confusing his ODI batting with tests :dontknow:
Jaddu's ODI wickets dont mean he will take wickets in tests.
True. But the fact that he is one of the leading bowlers in Ranji trophy means he will be a very good bowler in test cricket.

Err.We already do that. What do u think is picking 3 fast bowlers away from home and 2 spin + 2 fast combination in India ? What we should pick is the best combination that wins matches based on the conditions.5 bowlers are the best way to take 20 wkts in Indian flat wkts. And we dont need 7 quality batsmen in Indian conditions where the pitches are flat particularly when we have 4 all time greats in our batting line up. And yes Dhoni is a high quality batsman in test cricket too in Indian conditions.
