To sum it up, Bhajji is deliberately underperforming at the Ranji Trophy. He has another motivation not to go to Australia - he wants to win the Ranji Trophy as captain and be the only captain to have won the Ranji Trophy and the CPL. And after he retires, they'll call him 'the best captain India never had'. It's all sorted out. Oh also, he's getting married in January. He really doesn't have the time to go to Australia and all.

He was not selected for England ODI's and WI Tests because he is not up to the mark and more importantly Ojha and Ashwin are better as of now and they proved it bowling in tandem in these 3 Tests a breath of fresh air far removed from the stench Harbhajan's bowling emanates. So where does the question of his return or getting selected for the Australian tour arise unless his proximity to Tendulkar and business deals with Dhoni play a role in his selection. There is only one sane voice in the selection committee in the name of Jimmy Amarnath where he can override Dhoni or Tendulkar if pressured through brokers like Ravi Shastri who already is performing the role of a b**** to perfection through the media. Jimmy who once himself was a victim of the selectoral process getting screwed by the Mumbai lobby primarily because of his father's Lala Amarnath's prior rifts with the BCCI at the time and hence had to pay the price when Rajsingh Dunganpur settled the scores by not picking Jimmy despite being the deserved candidate. So hope he keeps that in mind and the hurt that has caused him at the time when he sits for the meeting on Saturday when they pick the squad for Australia and straight away strike out Harbhajan and vote for Ojha and Ashwin. This is a national squad and not any players personal fiefdom as some of these players have come to treat it as which is obvious from the way Harbhajan speaks as if he is entitled to a spot. They need to make sure Harbhajan outperforms other spinners in the Ranji and has a county stint before he is selected for Tests again. I honestly feel this guy should have been history a while back for the trash he has been delievering and in the process robbing someone like a Ojha a few Tests atleast.

Its a new team under a new captain which is rebuilding and I doubt they give a toss whether a past-it Ind player is picked or not. Performance should be the sole criteria for picking players, not distant history or friendships with other senior players. Seriously need to move on.

I still remember how commentators specially Gavaskar going gaga over Rohit Sharna during our last Aussie tour. I have never seen any commentator advertising for any player before that. I remember how lotsa fans joined that Rohit Sharma bandwagon after that campaign from Gavaskar. That is reason Rohit has got chance after chance to play Odis for India even after regular failures. No one will underrate his batting skills now, scores a ton on his 3rd test :hatsoff:
