Is it just me or Aaron's pace dropped a bit in the 2nd ODI?

As far as this thread ques goes, I think both Umesh and Aaron were bowling within themselves. There could be some problem with one not both of them at the same time. The reason I think is, team management wants them to stay fit for the Aussie tour. They also want them to get match practice. They don't want either of them to get injured. We all know what their capabilities are and we will better utilize them in Australia. If you'd have noticed, captain was kind of hiding them in the field as well.

sree can bowl quick but his stock ball is at 137-138 thats the pace where he has control.. and also swing no point in bowling too quick as cos of his seam he will always get carry and bounce

don know yadav to me looked like bowling within him aaron on the other hand was little but out of rhythm, of day big deal this guy will never slwo down he already had stress fractures before he is still here bowling quick so stop worrying his body is lot stronger now and at 22 will only get stronger

was he quicker back than?
no he is same now! thts why we support him over pathan and others... before world cup his last 2 odis he got 2 back to back 4 wicket hauls against new zealand..

aaron needs to somehow out perform Vinay Ko-maar to remain relevant.... if VK keeps out performing aaron then it shows very badly on him. But I agree with the OP that Aaron was definitely bowling slower than usual today. Of the 2 pacers (aaron and yadav) umesh is definitely looking the more exciting prospect at the moment. I just want these 2 rookies to play a few matches along with Zak in the team.... i'm sure that would help them immensely.

absolutely right trundler27.. in match 1 aaron outperformed him doesn ot matter every one knows vk cant do much on the other hand aaron will improve a lot and is very talented vk can be good too he bowls some great balls but then 1 boundary ball every over does not help

The reason I think is' date=' team management wants them to stay fit for the Aussie tour. [/quote'] If that is the case, it can be a pretty dangerous tactic. I'm pretty sure that's how all our other fast bowlers (Munaf, Ishant etc) slowed down. I just hope this was a one-off and the next match he comes back firing on all cylinders. I don't care much about the runs he gave. But his pace was definitely down and that could be a sign to worry.

1 Pakistani troll , 1 Sreesanth troll... thread ka complete satyanaash. topic : both of them were slow today. In overcast conditions bowlers keep their pace low in order to get more movement through the air. So that may be the reason.

dhoni was using him in three overs in each spell while sehwag was using him 4 overs may be the guy cannot bowl long spell at good pace just yet

Dravid_TheWall, this is your final warning. I've got a lot of complaints about your Sreesanth obsession and trolling in threads about any pace bowler. You are out of here if you bring up Sreesanth in any thread unless: 1. The thread is about him in particular 2. The thread is about Indian pace bowling in general 3. Someone else brought Sreesanth into the discussion before you.

everybody was relatively slower today. some bouncer were bowled at 130,which seems to hurried the batsmen, a upper cut went to to six in longish square boundary was mid 130ish so dont know if they were deliberately bowling slow to swing in overcast condition or the speed gun was conked off.

Whats your opinion about Aaron as well as Yadav?

During the Englad ODIs, Aaron had a perfect release with a nice wrist position. Yesterday he was bowling with a scrambled seam and also looked to be struggling with his rhythm. Areas which he clearly needs to work on. Also, he will have to shed some of the flab around his tummy for a long career. Can take a cue from Yadav in that regard. 2 years ago Yadav wasn't even half the bowler he is now. Looks to have worked hard on his run up, release, wrist position and importantly on his overall fitness and stamina. Won't be out of place to say that Umesh (and Mithun) have perhaps got the fittest bodies out of all Indian pacers of recent times.

Spot on. While delivering the ball he does not stay up enough which leads him to spray the ball when he puts effort. He has an action and run-up of a Farveez Mahroof, but he tries to bowl like Brett Lee. This needs to be sorted out. Don't understand what guys at MRF worked with him. Umesh Yadav's bowling coach Subrato Bannerjee did a better job with Umesh.

There are days when you your body does not respond the way you want it to ...He did not pick wickets either. Nothing to be alarmed off. With some rest he will be back to his normal self. AND PLEASE STOP HIJACKING EVERY BOWLING THREAD WITH SINGING PRAISES FOR THE MENTALLY RETARDED SRISANTH. Talk about him in threads about him..plzzz

Aaron just had his off day. He has the potential to be better than Yadav. Just give him time. I think he needs to do more workout in the gym. Check out Aaron's and Yadav's stats in the Emerging players tournament which was played in Australia (Aug 2011) Aaron 89-14-296-10 U.Yadav 62-15-189-6
