Needforspeed Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 If Weenie Kumar plays, he might get some 4 wickets for 125 runs. *prediction* 2 wickets for 149 runs "prediction" for Australia's first innings. No second innings for Australia if the Koomar plays.
The Realist Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 The sight of Koomar running in on his tiny legs on the big Aussie grounds and then hopping. skipping and jumping to release the ball before it is smashed past him is just :hysterical:
Dravid_TheWall Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Ishant averages 50+ with the ball against most teams, not even a support bowler really. I don't think Vinay Kumar will do worse, maybe even better. Dinda too. Both will be support bowlers to ZK and Yadav. Just no Mithun. In fact if we persisted with Dinda/VK for 4 years like with Ishant, there stats would probably be similar. Can't wait for return of PK and Sree.
G_B_ Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Ishant on course to play in Boxing Day Test India's bowling coach Eric Simons was also confident Ishant would be fit ahead of the Boxing Day Test. Ū'm very happy with our preparations. I think we've done our best. I see no reason why Ishant shouldn't play the Boxing Day Test. IshantÃÔ coach Sharavan Kumar explained the problem. "Actually, he uses a customised ankle strap which was troubling him in the first instance. Then he had some problem in his left foot which wasnÃÕ anything major. Manny_Pacquiao Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 looks like ishank will play on boxing day http://www.mid-day.com/sports/2011/dec/201211-sports-Ishant-will-play-opening-Test-Eric-Simons.htm India's bowling coach Eric Simons, the longest serving member of the current coaching staff, shares a good relationship with Ishant. "He's doing alright, and should be back to bowling at full steam very soon. There's no reason why he can't play the first Test," Simons told MiD DAY yesterday. Simons, who has been with the Indian side for over two years, is more than just a bowling coach. On Sunday, he was seen talking to Rahane about his batting for close to 15 minutes. "I love working with this team. We have come on this tour with a very good looking bowling attack. All the bowlers are in good rhythm and can't wait to get out there for the real thing," he said. The former South Africa fast bowler was particularly impressed with Zaheer Khan's much-anticipated return to Test cricket. Zaheer last got through a Test in Cape Town in January. He limped off on Day One of July's Lord's Test. Simons said: "I am very happy with the way Zaheer's coming along. He has definitely got his rhythm going. He's recovered really quickly, a little faster than I expected."

J P K Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Vinay Kumar not worried about pressure of playing in Boxing Day Test :WTF:
rkt.india Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 "I'm bowling around 135km/h consistently and this is more than enough in these conditions to get extra bounce and at that speed if you can swing the ball, any batsman will find it difficult to play," The Sydney Morning Herald quoted him, as saying. :omg: Since when he started bowling 135K consistently.
Needforspeed Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 :omg: Since when he started bowling 135K consistently. And since when has he started swinging the ball enough to trouble the batsmen. In England under the best swinging conditions the only thing swinging was his a**.

Hell Raiser Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 :omg: Since when he started bowling 135K consistently. He is bowling 135 consistently, only if you add up his bowling speed of all the deliveries in an over.
Raghav_12 Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Ishant on course to play in Boxing Day Test Source - Hindustan Times http://www.hindustantimes.com/Cricket/CricketNews/Ishant-on-course-to-play-in-Boxing-Day-Test/Article1-784574.aspx Fast bowler Ishant Sharma will be available for the opening Test against Australia starting on December 26 and may resume bowling in the nets with full vigour on Wednesday, according to team sources. The tall fast bowler had not bowled since he walked away after sending down 5.3 overs on Day One of the two-day practice match against Cricket Australia Chairman's XI at Manuka Oval in Canberra last week. That had triggered speculation that his ankle injury had flared up again and could sideline him for the first Test in Melbourne. Sources confirmed that Ishant did have some trouble in his left ankle but it wasn't alarming enough to send him back or rule him out of the first Test. On Monday, Ishant rolled his arm over in the nets while his team mates played against the CA Chairman's XI in the final warm-up game in Canberra. The Delhi pacer bowled one over off a shortened run-up. He then told HT, űleased with the workout. I'm feeling good. Asked if he would pass the fitness assessment, he gave a thumbs-up. India's bowling coach Eric Simons was also confident Ishant would be fit ahead of the Boxing Day Test. He consulted a doctor and is fine now. Team sources confirmed that Ishant consulted a specialist in the Australian capital who gave an injection on the affected part and advised him rest. Ishant injured his ankle during the forgetful tour of England and was initially advised surgery. However, he underwent rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy and was treated by Delhi-based alternative therapist Dr. Jatin Chaudhary. Ishant had told HT that he would put off surgery to play in Australia but later said he may not need one at all. The bowler made his comeback in last month's home Test series against West Indies. He played in the first two matches before being rested for the final Test in Mumbai after India took an unassailable 2-0 series lead.
