Once again i think everyone is focusing too much on the batting. Of course the media is having a field day with our galacticos failing but it's the weak link in our bowling attack that is letting us down.

oh come on. this batting lineup gets shot out for low scores AT home against teams like west indies. there is NO EXCUSE for getting bowled out on good batting pitches. it happened in england, happened in some of our home tests and its happening here at the SCG, a ground where india scored almost 600 in 2007/8 and 705 in 2003/4. the bowlers are carrying us right now. our batting lineup blows and the grandads need to be tucked away into their retirement homes ASAP

he is being REALISTIC. a guy who calls himself THE WALL shouldnt be getting his sticks rearranged every single innings. if the guy cant defend, what good is he??

Even if the pitch turns flat it will still be bouncy and we haven't shown enough ability and application to convince us they can score on a true bouncy surface.

Laxman is the Tendulkar of England '11.[/quote'] Laxman looks worse than Tendulkar in England. Tendulkar actually looked positive in some of the innings in England. Laxman just looks dead lost. And his fielding and running between the wickets doesn't really inspire confidence. Even yesterday he gobbled the first catch. Thankfully, Sachin was there to take the catch off the rebound.

Bounce alone isn't the problem for the top order. It's the lateral movement, which is why they have kept grass on the surface. In our last two tours to Australia the pitches didn't have this much grass on them, so the batting was good. This time they have kept grass on purpose after they saw the batting performance of the Indians on the grazing fields of England.

How can you say that? We managed to get Aussies cheaply last Test and may well do so this test as well. But it won't help if the batsmen don't show up. After some point bowlers' morale will take a hit and they can't keep on bowling throughout the test with just a 60 odd overs break thrown in when our superstars go out and score 200.

Better than what we have done - at least they look to score runs. Ponting and Hussey did that in the 1st test and Ponting and Clarke are doing it this test. Anyways it's a moot point and similar to "would Richards had been as great if he had faced his own bowlers in 80s". The bottom line is that our goose has well and truly been cooked this series.

The difference btwen their bowling and ours is, they kept the pressure, even when wicket were not falling they always bowled in channel...Ishant and Yadav are not able to do the same.bowling one line...

well regarding looking to score runs, it depends on bowling as well, if you bowl bad balls they are going to score runs. The ball does something for 30 overs...all we have to do is bat safely, you have to be good leaver to succeed..Instead of that we saw, Gambhir, Laxman and Sehwag playing shots that they should not have. Give atleast two hours to bowler...

i think his crap batting in this tour has conclusively proven that the england series was a fluke. i wouldnt care about the low scores, but the manner of his dismissals are shocking, guy looks like a tailender. he was in good touch at MCG first innings but got worse as the day went on. i think that will be the highlight of his tour and possibly his last 50+ score?? we'll see at least the selfish ***** has moved out of first slip. i thought this was never gonna happen what with his 200 catches and all. u know how we love counting records and stuff. next step, move him to the retirement home.
