maniac Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 kohli is here to stay....but the SA tour will be the real test for him....for the matter of fact any youngster....The only guys whoshowed brillaiance on those pitches for us were the likes of SRT,VVS,Azhar etc.....but right now no matter how much we hype our young brigade....expect Pak like scores on that tour especially with SA now having their best attack ever Still al ong way to go though

Right now I would really want to introduce a new opener in the game and Sehwag at #5. Drop Kohli at #6 for now. RD was in the middle within first 10 overs. 2 of 4 times, SRT was in the middle in the first 10 overs. Playing first 20 overs is diminishing art/style of test cricket. A notion of giving an honor for the first hour of the day to the bowling team has completely forgotten. Dont expect any team to do well. T1 First Innings 8th over T1 Second Innings 6th over T2 First innings 3rd over T2 Second innings 1st over Not bad. Still holds true. Get Sehwag at #5. Too many lower order players right now. MSD, VK, VS. I think this batting order will settle after Sachin retires.
rkt.india Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 He did not have a great start even in ODIs but he improved as he played more. His 10-20 ODIs were poor and was dropped as well. He is a mentally determined guy and will certainly get better. Even Dravid and Ganguly did not do much on their first Aus tour. First he must play as many tests in India which will certainly help his confidence. It is more about confidence rather technique. He played some good innings in ODIs in SA where all others failed against a raging Morkel, fast Styen and accurate and bouncy Sosobe and those were lively pitches. I think I got it right.:--D

rkt.india Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Kohli fails even on easy paced tracks. He has proved several times he is found wanting at Test level. Rohit may or may not succeed. But he looks a better prospect than Kohli for tests. Easiest paced track in the world at Perth.

I have seen Kohli since U19 days and I know what he is.
