How can we ever improve and be a force to be reckoned with when the bigwigs who run BCCI and control Indian cricket can't even differentiate between Test cricket and odis :dontknow: For all we know BCCI is over the moon that even though we lost the test series 4-0 in England, we have more than avenged the loss and actually went one better with a 5-0 win in odis :omg:

This is not addressed in any publicized talks. India hardly looked like winning a session or even half a session, leave alone a close defeat, draw or win a test.

for all the abuse that gets heaped on the cricketers (deservedly so), the real culprits are the selectors and the administrators, and its amazing how they escape all the criticism. cricketers are professionals, and they do what anybody else would in the same situation - defend themselves and justify their place. sure, you might occasionally get somebody who knows when he is done, but by and large - cricketers are going to look out for themselves and their best interests. they aren't going to drop themselves, nor will they retire voluntarily. you can't blame them for that. the selectors are the ones who need to grow some balls. the question of whether xyz will retire SHOULDNT EVEN BE AN ISSUE. if a guy isnt playing well and the results keep getting worse, that guy shouldn't be picked. its as simple as that. xyz's personal judgement on retirement shouldn't even be a consideration. the power to make changes is in the hands of the selectors and the selectors are gutless people that can't make the right call. the administrators are even worse - none of them have any connection the game and are only in it for their personal gain. these are the guys that should be criticized the most, not the players. a player can be blamed for his individual failure but holding the player accountable for that failure is the responsibility of the selectors'. they are the REAL failures here.

NEW DELHI: An under-pressure BCCI on Saturday promised "corrective measures" after the Indian cricket team was humbled 0-4 by Australia in the Test series but refused to comment on the future of the struggling senior players, saying that remains in the hands of selectors. India lost the fourth Test by 298 runs in Adelaide, completing an eighth consecutive Test loss on foreign soil and second successive series whitewash abroad. Struggling to explain the debacle, senior BCCI functionary Rajiv Shukla conceded, "We haven't performed well, everyone accepted that...the Australians played very well and we all recognise that. We are equally concerned and certainly corrective measures will be taken." Shukla, also the IPL chairman, pinned his hopes on the ODI tri-series, also featuring Sri Lanka, starting February 5. He hoped that the team would script a recovery in the shorter format. "...we hope that we will do well in the ODI series, the BCCI President has also expressed this feeling. We are quite optimistic about the ODI series. Sometimes it happens, our top batsmen were not in form. We should accept this fact," said Shukla. Corrective Measures:- 1. Prepare Green Tracks at home so that our batters find it tough even to score 25 runs .. these tracks should have enuf bounce as well as we hardly have any bATTERs who know how to play the bouncing ball..and we genuinely suck against bounce, 2. prepare green tracks which ensure that our trundlers also try to push themselves and bowl with some pace rather than the other way round- 3. Let VVS and DRAVID focus on Business or join ganguly as commentators and even sachin should be asked to retire in the first test match he plays now- but because he has been the best - he deserves at least 1 test match more. Most IMP Action Item- turn the Flat pitches to green tracks. an akash chopra score a 100 and some Saxena scores a 220.....oh, if u have a guy scoring a double ton in a Ranji Final , he shoudl be some big Thing...we shud have a track which suits the pacers. 4. focus on FAST BOWLERS.............Spinners- possibly we have in plenty even today.
