Sid Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 We need to find our own Dernbach. What a slower he bowled to Misba. Dernbach is useless,he was smashed in every game he played against us home and away.He will be hammered everytime he comes up against good batsmen, dont get fooled by artistry of his slower balls against Misbah and co.Same slower balls were smashed at will by Dhoni,Raina and Kohli. Though we definately need good death bowlers and I think Aaron is one ,he needs to get fit ASAP.
Cricketics Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 I have some faith in Varun Aaron to be a smart bowler at death. Unfortunately the dude is out rite now with injuries. We also need to have someone who can bowl medium pace like Hansie Cronje. Can be a real handy bowler at death. May be Kohli will improve as a bowler too and will become the real deal in both departments :)

Ultimate_Game Posted March 1, 2012 Author Posted March 1, 2012 Medium pace at death in sub continent conditions is asking for trouble. :agree: Whatever I have seen of Aaron doesn't inspire much confidence. Umesh is way better than aaron and still gets carted around.
Cricketics Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Medium pace at death in sub continent conditions is asking for trouble. Na. All depends what kind of deliveries you dishing out. Sehwag as a spinner was pretty handy too at death against Saf once. It's all about getting better of batsman by bowling some rite line and length and bowling to your field.
Sid Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Aaron is a much better ODI bowler than Yadav.Aaron has the accuracy as well with pace ,though Yadav is consistently more quicker than Aaron but he bowls wayward most of times.
Number Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 ^ Also he has got good reverse swing which we saw in one ODI against England. That's Pretty handy in LOIs.
zep1706 Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 I wish we had Dada as captain currently ' date=' as we have talent to build a genuine pace brigade, under Dhoni these bowlers will suffer[b'].For the first time we have 3 bowlers who can bowl 150 plus, and 6 to 7 bowlers who can bowl 145 k. Who are they ? :hmmm:
Lord Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 dunno why Nehra n Munna r axed.Munaf had a decent last year n Nehra was our best bowler after Zak before the WC.we need some experience in Zak's absence
jairamesh Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 We need to find our own Dernbach. What a slower he bowled to Misba. god hope not!, Dernbach is absolute rubbish. It's amazing he gets picked in ODIs. Dernbach has been taken to the cleaners by Indian and Sri Lankan batsmen even in England, it's pakistan's inapptitude batsmen that's make him look good. Rubbish like Dernbach will never succeed in cricket, and Vinay is in that same category with all this slow bouncer/backhand of the hand nonsense, how about just getting the basics right, the yorker.
maniac Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Can't beleive I am saying this but Munna might be India's best death bowler right now.
zep1706 Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 I am still waiting for the answer. Who are these bowlers? "For the first time we have 3 bowlers who can bowl 150 plus, and 6 to 7 bowlers who can bowl 145 k."
Ultimate_Game Posted March 2, 2012 Author Posted March 2, 2012 I am still waiting for the answer. Who are these bowlers? "For the first time we have 3 bowlers who can bowl 150 plus, and 6 to 7 bowlers who can bowl 145 k." 3 Umesh is the only one I've seen so far. Ishant is around 140-145 mark most of the time and the last I saw of Varun Aaron he was clocking 135 against WI.
orasparkle Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 I hope India plays 3 seamers in Asia cup....Vinay & Dinda can bowl in death overs.
MCcricket Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Sudeept tyagi bowls 136 to 146 k's making a comeback , Manpreet Gony can touch 145 k's, Dinda has bowled 147.5 fastest, Rahul Shukla as fast as Umesh , Aaron,Abu Nechim bowls 138 to 148 k's,Pawan Suyal can bowl close to 140's,P Parmeswaram bowled 145 k's in ipl,Umesh, Varun, Ishant have all bowled fastest at 152 plus.VRV ,Kamran Khan making a comeback after injury bowled 144 k's,Anwar Ahmed is fast medium, Shami Ahmed bowled in Ipl can easily bowl in 140's.There are more bowlers who can bowl at that pace

On top of it they are all untried & untested who have yet to perform consistently even at domestic level.

I am only mentioning what I have seen with my eyes, u can take it at whatever value,First ball Shami bowled in CLT20 WAS 141 K, FIRST OVER P Parmeswaram bowled in IPL WAS FROM 136 TO 144 K'S,DINDA BOWLS BETWEEN 134 TO 145 K'S NORMALLY, SEE THE odi's he played in Africa with Umesh and VK in the team,Abu NECHIM BOWLED REGULARLY IN MID TO HIGH 140'S THIS years clt20,Tyagi is making a comeback after injury the first two years in his ranji debut and ipl he bowled from 135 to 145 k, same when he played the ODI for India,VRV singh bowled in 140s to 146 k, when he toured west indiesin test's,these bowlers are FAST TO FAST MEDIUM WITHOUT DOUBT,among countless trundlers these guys have pace. Unadkat is poor , same with 80 % of domestic bowlers who bowl between 110 to 129 k's, highest wicket takers Sudhindra, Sandhu, Waigankar, D KULKARNI, yO mAHESH, Mithun current form ARE TRUNDLERS NOT EVEN COUNTY CLASS. Tyagi , Gony, Dinda, Anwar Ahmed, Shami Ahmed, Abu Nechim, Pawan Suyal, R Shukla,P Parmeswaram are easily Fast medium 135 to 145 k, and like Umesh can in the future be fast as well, specially R Shukla. i BELIEVE U DON'T WATCH DOMESTIC CRICKET OR FOLLOW IT MUCH OR U WOULD KNOW ABOUT Tyagi being injured for close to a year or more on and off, same for VRV, DINDA ALSO HAD FORM ISSUES AND THIS YEAR HE HAD A G8 SEASON.Gony had a fantastic season for last 3 years , this year he missed a few, if u watch any of his ipl games u will see his average ball being close to high 130 and on the higher side around mid 140's.

He barely played 4 ODI matches one of which was abandoned and he did not do as badly as Vinay Kumar did in his first few matches, still VK persisted and he not. Regarding, Shukla where have you seen taken apart by no body. In fact, it was Irfan Pathan who was taken apart by no body and it was Rahul Shukal who bowled better than Irfan.

I don't think Dernbach is useless. He is still not experianced and in learning stage.India is very strong team at home so it was obvious for him to be smashed.Even if a bowler get smashed by good quality of batsmen but can stop average batsmen in death overs ,still he is very useful bowler as most of the team in world have very average quality of batting
