It will take time to accept an Indian team without the great man in it. I have been very strongly advocating them ( seniors ) to retire within a set time frame for the future of Indian cricket. But when you look back at their career, you know in your heart that it would be tough if not impossible to replace them. Looking back I am amazed at how brilliant he has been for India in crunch situation esp. when it comes to decider matches. I would go so far as to say that he has been the most important reason for India's success abroad. It would be impossible to choose one. But I would go with his brilliant innings in Rawalpindi in the decider 3rd test. 6en6J2H9Des Thank you for your contribution to Indian cricket. :hatsoff:

It would be like trying to pick something out of a bunch of gems, but I was all pumped up when we beat Aus at Adelaide and then 100 he hit at Headingley in tough conditions to help Ind win the test .... that 400 runs opening partnership with Veeru against Pak was also memorable (Pak :giggle: )

Headingley 2002 was one of the best knocks of the decade.Also those twin fifties against westindies in jamaica 2006 on a minefiled of a pitch to win india the series:icflove:

most will list the tons,but to me his 81 at Jamaica 2006 was right up there.was one hell of a difficult pitch.even Munaf took wickets there IIRC

Wasn't that 148 against RSA in RSA his first hundred? I think that is still Dravid's greatest innings. I can hardly remember him playing a false stroke there. Was a beauty.
