His 84 in his debut series. Etched in my memory. Till date some of the best on drives ever played by any batsman in an innings. I am talking from Gavaskar days.

Which 84 you are talking about. His debut series was against England where he scored 95 on debut. He maiden test 100 was against SA in the third test at Wanderers and in the same test in second innings he had scored 81. I think you are talking about 84 in ODIs but that was not his debut series.

the jamaica innings in 2006 nd 2011 were the best i guess in very difficult tracks... his 82 from 60 odd balls in bristol in 2007 was top drawer 91 at perth was awesome 170 odd in ahmedabad vs srl, yes the pitch was flat, but india at 37/4 , he did really well
