Ganguly phucked India in that game just to score some runs and not caring about the team. The way we were going 350+ total was on the cards and everything changed when Ganguly entered :mad: What made it worse was that he was the captain :omg: I admire Ganguly a lot and i thank him for all he did for the team but I lost a lot of respect for ganguly after that game. What he did was worse than SRt did just like the Mongia-Prabhakar incident.

Gavaskar is still remembered for his 36 runs in 60 overs in the first world cup.. obviously for bad reasons. Tendulkar had a clean slate until this innings.

And let me know if you want me to dispense some free cricketing logic on the difference between Chasing a target and setting a target. And in Test matches you have that monumental 12(96). WTF a certain Batsman who is compared with various immovable objects - such as a Deewar for example - constructed an entire ODI career over 15 friggin yrs by batting for entire inngs with super slow strike rates ... Never saw the supposedly "Astute Critics" over here open threads along the lines of how these innings were disgraceful moments. Understand ? LOl..talking about Dravid. Were there between 1996 to 2000 period. Didn't you read or hear how Dravid used to be criticized by everyone for every one. This is nothing in front of that criticism because the did not do that intentionally. His place in the team was questioned by experts and fans on those days because his game was not suited to ODIs back then and due to those slow innings, but he was playing to give middle order a stability if early wickets fells and most of slow innings came exactly in those situation where he had to anchor the innings after early wickets, but then this is the same guy who scored 145 and 153 too in ODIs over 100 SR and this guy also has the second fastest 50 in ODIs for an Indian.

Thanks for the little mercies on the choker. After playing 450 ODI + ~300 test innings with 'clean slate', integrity definitely can not be one of the problems?
express bowling Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Tendulkar had a huge genuine fanbase during the first 15 years or so of his career. He was never the best player under pressure conditions but almost never gave the impression that he was playing for personal milestones. He was very highly respected and loved by cricket lovers in almost every country barring Pakistan. After that he started showing signs that he was valuing personal milestones more and more. As a Tendulkar fan in the 1990s it feels really sad to see a great man bringing himself down by giving the impression thart he values his records more than wins for his country. The great man himself has said in the post century interview that he lost " 50 kgs " in the last year because of pressure when he was not getting his century. If he does not value it above almost everything else in the world then why such extreme pressure ? The cricketing fraternity all over the world is gertting a chance to criticize him incessantly. Would it not have been better for him if he made a few less records but retired ( whenever that is ) with more respect than records. ( does he really need any more records ? ) There will always be a few fanatics giving weird reasons trying to defend his every action. But the majority of cricket lovers can all see the truth. Tendulkar is losing genuine fans, people who loved his game and the way he played, all over the world. Thinking from his point of view, I hope Tendulkar realizes this.
