Declaring himself fit to resume cricketing activities after being 'rested' because of injury, opener Virender Sehwag on Wednesday said he missed not being in the dressing room when Sachin Tendulkar struck his landmark 100th international century last week. "The rest period is over and I am set to train, and play in the IPL," Sehwag said. Sehwag's name not figuring in the Asia Cup squad had created a controversy after selection committee chief Krishnamachari Srikkanth failed to give a convincing answer. While the chief selector insisted that Sehwag had been "rested" due to a sore shoulder after announcing the squad for the Asia Cup, the opener said he had back spasms and had opted for rest as per the physio's advice.

No one has had a bigger fall from grace than this mahashyay. After his comeback in 07/08, he was well on his way to ATG status, but lack of fitness, poor showing abroad for far too many tours to be a dip in form has set him back and he doesn't give a flying ****. Shame really. :((

Guys.. Bring him in the middle order. It is no surprise that he struggled as an opener. He managed to get runs, lot of it but it is not easy to be an opener on these bouncy and swinging conditions. He will do much better in terms of consistency.

we need some heart and committment from this guy in the internationals. His attittude really needs improvement. he will do anything to play IPL. He cannot yet be counted as one of ATGs. If the reports of him causing team trouble are true it is pathetic.

how this guy has managed to feckup his own career, reputation and general goodwill is a case study in how not to live your life as a human.

"The rest period is over and I am set to train, and play in the IPL," Sehwag said. :cantstop: Man!! Now they are really spitting on Indian stupid fans. The best part is, there is not even an attempt to be diplomatic or subtle. Its like "Fu&^ you !! Its my life and I want money and IPL is the way I am going " . I actually appreciate the honesty.

Sure why not! It was all fun and games since the WC. The real business right now in IPL.
Real cricket starts from next month :yay::yay:
